June 22, 2012 at 9:26 pm #50014tonygKeymasterGentle on My Mind seems like a lock. 🙂
June 23, 2012 at 7:11 pm #50015stogerParticipant“Galveston” would seem a second lock. And how about “Stowaway in Your Heart” as a hopeful, if uneducated, guess for the original?
June 23, 2012 at 8:49 pm #50016TOverbyParticipantGlen is keeping all the big ones for his set -as he should. Lucinda’s songs will be more obscure -and judging by rehearsal yesterday they will be very special.

June 25, 2012 at 5:23 pm #50019stogerParticipantNice, but are we still in the dark as to the three songs Lucinda did? I don’t suppose Blake Mills was part of the backing Dawes “house band?”
June 25, 2012 at 8:26 pm #50020tonygKeymasterThe review indicates she did a song called Turn Around and Look at Me or something like that. I don’t believe Blake was involved.
June 25, 2012 at 8:50 pm #50021TOverbyParticipantLucinda did three songs -Turn Around Look At Me, Yesterday When I Was Young and Born To Be Loved. It was quite a night -very emotional -to be able to stand in the wings with Jackson and Kris among others and watch the show was very special. Lucinda was in tears. When Glen came offstage and the end Kris went over and hugged him -an image and moment I’ll never forget.
June 26, 2012 at 5:17 pm #50022stogerParticipantThanks Tony and Tom–didn’t notice the one title in skimming the article, and “Born to Be Loved” is not a surprising choice. Doug taking the great instrumental break on that one? And Mr. Overby, I’m going to take you up on one of those Bolano fiction recommendations.
June 26, 2012 at 6:01 pm #50023LafayetteParticipantI’m glad Lu was able to be part of such a special show. Alzheimer’s sucks.

Set List: Glen Campbell @ The Hollywood Bowl with Lucinda Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Jackson Browne &
Glen Campbell isn’t quite finished with his final tour, but he did perform his last concert in the Los Angeles area on Sunday night at the Hollywood Bowl. According to most reports, those in the crowd would never know that he was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease from his singing and, especially, his guitar playing throughout the night with only slight lapses between numbers.
The evening was not just a Campbell concert, as a number of stars performed during the first set in salute to jos long and illustrious career, both as a singer and as a session man in the Wrecking Crew. Courtney Taylor-Taylor of the Dandy Warhols, Lucinda Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Jenny Lewis and Jackson Browne stayed far away from the songs that Glen would be performing later in the evening, sticking with some of his more obscure hits along with songs on which he played guitar during the early and mid-60’s.
The L.A. country group Dawes acted as the house band for the evening. Cambell used his own band which included two of his daughters, who also gave their father a break mid-show, and his son on drums.
