Lu begins with a moment of silence for both the shooting victims and area firefighters.

    1 World Without Tears
2 Are You Alright [before which Lu proclaims her gratitude at being able to perform, hoping that the evening will be “healing” for all]
    3 Ventura
    4 People Talkin’
5 Car Wheels on a Gravel Road [with the background story about her father Miller having noted that the song is autobiographical, even though Lu might not have been aware of such at the time she wrote it]
6 2 Kool 2 b 4 gotten {Flannery O’Connor gets some love in the intro, along with the two photographers]
7 Lake Charles [first time I’ve ever heard her describe Clyde physically–big and tall–also, Lu explicitly says he was her “boyfriend” but that they were not together at the time of his death]
8 I Look at the World [followed by “That’s going to get better as we go along” and some talk about new songs being like babies and “little seeds”]
9 Fruits of My Labor [followed by words to her monitor guy: “I need to hear Dougie a little more”]
10 Born to Be Loved {with said “Dougie” doing a killer bluesy instrumental break per usual]
11 Pineola [preceded by “this is a stunningly beautiful sounding room” & “if mama’s happy…”]
12 Drunken Angel [“Blaze Foley was not my boyfriend”]
13 I Need Protection [Lu says she is ready for the studio with “background singers and everything” for this particular song]
    14 Out of Touch
15 Unsuffer Me [“We picked songs tonight that we thought would be especially healing” + “When I wrote this song I was completely unaware of the drug Ecstasy”]
    16 Cross to Bear
    17 Changed the Locks
    18 Joy
    _________________________________
19 Angel {Lu brings three firefighters on stage for a tribute; they then pass the boot around for donations from the audience. Meanwhile, Lu praises the “beautiful, tender ballads” of Jimi Hendrix]
20 Passionate Kisses {solo, “Dougie” still in the wings]
21 Blessed {full band throughout all the verses]
22 Get Right with God [with Amy Cook & a writhing David Garza]

Wow. Thanks to westwords for writing down much of what I put above. Hope she will add more. I’ve never heard Lu say so much between songs. Later.

A certain lead guitarist’s taste buds told me so. Tempting…

I did a lobster roll tour last year which coincided with a Lu show in Gilford, NH and a Maine fishing trip. I strongly encourage you to sample the lobster rolls at Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, Maine (45 miles north of Portland) They are widely recognized as the best lobster rolls in the world. And after considerable testing, I agree. The Lobster Shack at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth, Maine (9 miles south of Portland) is also worth the trip. Spectacular ocean front location and the food is pretty good too.
One final recommendation, make the 20 mile trip from Brownfield, Maine to Conway, New Hampshire and take the Kancamagus Highway to Lincoln. Take I-93 north to Franconia and drive up to Route 302 East which takes you to Bretton Woods, past Mount Washington and thru Crawford Notch before depositing you back at North Conway, New Hampshire. It is one of the most beautiful drives in the nation and you won’t regret it.
Jealous. Wish I could join you.
