Lucinda Williams’ longtime manager Frank Callari passed away yesterday. He was a kind man and always got back to me with any questions I had.

About a year ago, I bought the Lucinda Williams CD and saw Frank’s email address on the disc. I sent him some of my demos as I am a struggling singer/songwriter..anyway…Frank took the time to listen to my stuff and responded to my email. He had been familiar with my old band, (crossfire choir > 1st album produced by Steve Lillywhite for Geffen records in the 80s, see www.jaypounders.com for more info) and was interested in hearing more of my solo material which I sent to him.
Unfortunately, he passed before I was able to find out what he thought of my stuff and before he could help save me from the bitter disgruntled life which mine has become 🙂 but he was very encouraging and it was nice of him to take the time to listen to my stuff and respond.
He seemed like someone that still cared about the music which is increasingly rare in the business.
