Nice of you to set the start of this looong tour tonyg.
I would be pleased to act as backup setter upper preamble for any shows you might be at the golf course on much as I did for the Euro tour of 2013 😆
Happy and safe touring to Lu and crew.

Thx LWj. You can take it from here. I was just making some tee times. 😆

Your chimes will receive the highest priority, Mr. Stoger. 😯

this setlist is dedicated to the ever-chiming tonyg.

    Can’t Let Go
    Metal Firecracker
    Crescent City
    Pineola
    Lake Charles
    Ventura
    Drunken Angel
    I Lost It
    Something Wicked this way comes
    Real Live Bleeding…
    Changed the Locks
    Out of Touch
    Righteously
    Essence
    Not/Ain’t My cross to bear
    Joy

    Honeybee
    Rocking in the Free world

    More later. . .

Not much to add, pretty basic straightforward tour opener, festival-type set. Crescent City had a false start, quickly resolved by a Mathis-Williams dialogue. The BOOK pages were fluttering constantly, causing the guitar tech (Manny) to come on not only between but during certain songs to flip and clamp. Ray Wylie Hubbard, Billy Gibbons, and Justin Townes Earle were among the festival players prior to headlining Lu. Ask me again after tonight. I call this successful tourlaunch, for fan and performer alike.

Great report Stoger. I enjoy your double negative on It’s Not My Cross To Bear. The FF needs to standardize the title of this song. And only 1 song from the alleged new double CD? How was the weather? 😉

P.S. There was a rumor of a Lu/Billy Gibbons performance. Can you check your notes on that?

Yeah, we got two new ones from your list last night in Cherokee: reporting soon. The Gibbons-Lu thing got fouled up, largely due to poor stage management on the Gibbons end; apparently it was a one-off trip for him and he didn’t really have crew personnel or a very good liaison between his people and the always competent Lu people. I believe he did the Jesus/Chicago song anyway, sans our Lu.

I am not stepping on toes here. Officially, to setlist.fm standards, The Allman Brothers classic is “It’s Not My Cross To Bear.” Will it become FF standard? Only stoger knows for sure.

Awesome. I’m playing catch up (have been without my PC for over a week) and on my twitter search find a picture of Lucinda and Kenny Aronoff at dinner. 8)

I prefer to render it the way Lu does, Lafayette. Render what is Caesar’s unto Caesar, but . . .

Aha. At times, I’m slow to the punchline. 😮
