I got both reissues (Ramblin’ and Happy Woman Blues) for Christmas. I don’t have the originals, but the covers are basically stickers of the album art on black vinyl sleeves. Wasn’t sure if the originals were like that or not.
Nice Christmas gifts ParkerCA.
I cheated for your questions on original artwork. ( LW Resource Site )
LUCINDA 2: HAPPY WOMAN BLUES (1980) – Folkways FTS 31067 (Two different covers – the first issue was blue & is rare; the second edition was brown. Same smiling photo of Lucinda on both)
(All songs written by Lucinda Williams) First issue only says Lucinda. 2nd says Lucinda Williams.
LUCINDA: RAMBLIN’ ON MY MIND (Recorded in Jackson, Mississippi in September 1978 & released in 1979) – Folkways FTS 31066
(Two different covers; The first one is reproduced below. The caption beneath the photo is as follows: NEGROES’ HOUSES, OUTSKIRTS OF TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI 1936, PHOTOGRAPH BY WALKER EVANS, COLLECTION OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. The second cover that Folkways issued was a closeup of the front end of an old car or truck with a Louisiana American Legion license plate – same as CD reissue.)
Enjoy the Classics.
