I’m a musician/songwriter from Indianapolis–bandname: the Derelicks. We’ve been around awhile but don’t get out much, at least not during the winter. We recorded a handfull of (licensed) cover songs recently, including Lucinda’s, “Blue” (from “Essence”). I wanted to let people know about it as we are huge fans. Check it out at: http://www.thederelicks.com (feedback is always wellcome). Ms. Williams is coming to our neighborhood club (The Vogue, June 9th) and our tickets are in hand. She has not been to Indy for awhile–so we are all looking forward to the show. She’s new to the Vogue but she’ll dig it–it’s a great Indy club that was once a movie theater (when we were kids). For people not familiar with the Vogue in Indianapolis, it’s worth travelling to–the neighborhood has always been a bit bohemian (hippies and headshops in the 70s, lots of bars now)…so come for the race and stick around for Lucinda and Buick 6. I’ve been on this site many times over the past few years but I’m a newbie as far as being a registered member. I like the new look. All for now…Tim Considine/ The Derelicks
Hey,Tim, welcome! I’ve been to “The Vogue”, great venue! I wanted to go to this show, I’m from Cincy area, but it’s a school night and can’t do back to back shows. I’m going to the show at the Madison Theater in Covington, KY the following night. You should try to come to that one as well! Same vibe and set up as The Vogue.
Lafeyette, I’ve got a brother (with wife and kids) in Cincy–love that town. I have been to the club with the Gen Thompson ( The Thomson Gunner, like the Waren Zevon tune) placque out front–just accross the river in Kentucky (very cool place–big converted old haunted mansion). I’d love to head over to Cincy but I’m generally buried with stuff here in Indy during the week…Take Care…Tim C.
