Re: Oct. 10,11,2009 at the Qween Elizabeth Theater. Vancouver vs. Toronto.

    Looks like good news.

I just got off the phone.
Called Bruno Sinopoli-the Operations / Booking Manager for the Queen Elizabeth Theater at Exhibition Place in Toronto, ON. See their contact info on their web site.

He confirmed that the dates are reserved for Lu thru High Road Touring-not Vancouver and an official posting should be on the Theater’s Web site soon.

High Road Touring has updated their show list. It now reads Toronto instead of Vancouver. I’ve changed the latest list I posted above.

Oh WOW! You have no idea, tnt, on this show in Bloomington, IN at the Bluebird! This is a club where Mr. Mellencamp (his adopted hometown) would drop in for impromptu shows. One infamous show, Lou Reed was scheduled to play Farm Aid. He was in Bloomington with JM, and they stopped in The Bluebird, unnannounced, to practice. I have seen several accounts from people that happened to be there, saying it was the best show they have ever witnessed.

I am so going to this show, hopefully bringing along some JM fans (from surrounding area) with me! I’ve been going back and forth on the Chicago and St. Louis shows, still trying to decide and still may go to those, but at some point I need to squeeze in some surgery that will have me down and out in paradise for 4 – 6 weeks. Tentatively, I was planning the surgery for first week in September, but this show changes the game plan!

TO, if Lu is up for it and interested, you should schedule a visit to John’s studio, very close to The Bluebird, as I’m sure you know, or take her to Little Nashville to shop 🙂 . I’m ready to help with doing street team duties to advertise the show. I have posters left over from her Covington show and have friends that live in Bloomington. I will enlist their help to hang them around Btown and hopefully at IU as well.

    I am STOKED!

    The following is from Rugles:

i too would love a Toronto show, being only an hour away

its funny, when i saw the tour posted on Pollstar … i thought she is going to be doing a lot of flying rather than bussing between shows .. which seemed unusual and a waste of money

i hope its Toronto but Pollstar still has it in Vansterdam and I am sure if it was a mistake it would have been fixed by now

Hey Rugles-I see you are from St. Catharines, ON.
I work in St. Catharines and live in Niagara on the Lake, ON.

    Regards to all.

    enjoy

Surgery? Surgery? Surely, Lafayette, this could be deferred except in life-threatening situations (and perhaps even then), in the name of Lu. Can’t do Bloomington midweek, but fall break comes nicely for two Chicagos and the St. Louis. So light out for that terrritory, and see you then, there!

Yes, I will be deferring, stoger! All in the name of LU (and Farm Aid 😉 ). Excited to hear you can make Chicago as I cannot make NYC. I am actually waiting on surgery (as it isn’t life threatening, only life altering) until after the LU shows. I did find out yesterday surgery won’t be as extensive as originally thought so recovery should be easier. I won’t be able to make St. Louis with doing Chicago, so I am choosing at least one, maybe two shows for Chitown. We will have to try to squeeze in a trip to Chess Records if you’re up for it (and Tom and Sarah, too, if they come.)

That would be very cool, Lafayette, but we will be checking out NYC instead. Got our tickets this morning. Turns out that NYC works better for us because of the weekend dates. And, Sarah has never been to NYC before, so…

I will once again miss seeing you and Sarah, tnt. Enjoy NYC. I love that city.

In regards to the Chicago shows at West Park, I just called for information on seating chart. This will be a GA show. There is seating available, and could or could not have seating on floor. No information at present for the floor. Also, no onsale date available.

    Hi Lafayette,

I’m working next to the Marriotte near Mulhauser and Union Center. If you want to do lunch some day at Mesh or someplace near there give me a buzz. I know I’ve not been on here much lately but I’m still a huge fan.

    Stevarino,

I’ll PM you after school starts.

You should consider going to St. Louis, it’s a weekend and looks to be the last show of this scheduled leg.

Thanks for the info…I’m crossing my fingers that there won’t be seating on the floor. GA with seats is the worst of both worlds, IMHO.

In any case, though, I’m really looking forward to these shows. I’m probably doing the first two nights and skipping the third – can’t really take time off work, and the shows are about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive each way for me so even two is pushing it – and from what I hear, the Park West is going to be a great place to see Lu. I believe it holds something like 800 people; very small and intimate.
