I’m still waiting on West Words to sneak a pen in old-school and test the confiscatory skills of the powers-that-be. Do these guys moonlight as security at Bills’ games?
September 21, 2011 at 4:47 pm #48000paul_from_losangelesParticipantJust bring a list of Lucinda’s songs, and a sheet of numbered sticker-dots (like art galleries use to key paintings/photos to the artist list). Then, affix a dot to the list, as each song is performed.
September 21, 2011 at 5:15 pm #48001tntracyParticipantAh, but can not sticky dots be used as a weapon to injure someone’s eye? 🙄 😆

Bear in mind, my esteemed friend, my jesting was directed at a venue that deems ballpoint pens & the like “dangerous” & therefore confiscates them, as opposed to the engineer-mind that thought up such a workable system… 😉

And then just ask Stoger.
Tony, I didn’t know they got zapped. I was so impressed with your high tech approach…
Stoger must take a lot of ginkgo. 😉

Might as well throw a new twist on this thread.
I thank everyone for their suggestions on a setlist for the Town Ballroom gig in Buffalo and have to agree paul_from_losangeles has a good method but then West Words counters that with all the covers Lu has done and then of course Lucinda has a habit of sneaking in something unexpected.
So, here are my two workaround possibilities.
I own a Sony IC mini recorder half the size of my hand.
Here’s a pic.[attachment=0:1sqfr2fo]Sony recorder.jpg[/attachment:1sqfr2fo]Now comes a second alternative:
At concert’s end approach Kevin, Nick or Eric F. and ask them to rip the set list off the floor.
This worked for me in Toronto Oct./09 and got the thing autographed by Lucinda and the full band(except for Butch) by the tour bus.
By the way, looks like cameras are ok at the Ballroom.lwj
September 22, 2011 at 2:35 pm #48006tonygKeymasterExcellent recorder idea LWJ.
One drawback with the stage setlist idea is LW typically deviates from it.
September 22, 2011 at 3:55 pm #48007stogerParticipantI’m going low-tech guys: I’m sneaking in one of those stubby pencils used at putt-putt courses to record scores.

I phoned the venue and talked with the Manager.
He said no problem about bringing a pen for an adult show like Lucinda’s.
He said they had trouble a while back with kids writing on the wall.
Point and shoot cameras are OK.
My mini recorder, he said to call back closer to show time to see if OK.
I also asked him about parking since the venue is on Main Street which is only for pedestrians and bus traffic.
Anyone going to the show park on Washington Street.FINALLY, I got my ticket today thru Tickets.com for will call.
Very abusive fees.
Ticket $30.00
Fees 7.50
Order processing fee 3.25
Grand Total $40.75lwj
September 22, 2011 at 10:57 pm #48010tonygKeymasterAwesome! Funny if you wrote on the wall while you were there.

Great stuff, lwj. But what about venues like Webster nYC and Beaumont Club KC which start the “adult show” at 7 or 8 so as to have a teeny-bopper act later in the evening? Perhaps a two-tier ink pen policy prevails in such houses. At any rate, I feel sure an international phone call from you would settle any such ambiguities in the future.

Lefty, in light of your Van Halen song selection here, you might want to check out the Terry Anderson song “I Love You Period” which Dan Baird put on his 1992 record Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired.
