    I’m slow……Does this mean that there is a chance that LW is coming to Savannah?!!
    Who is Frank?

    You’re not slow, dariusjag. The message to which you refer was posted by a promoter who has worked &, apparently, is still working with TOverby on shows in the Southeast. For some reason, he is posting personal messages to TOverby here in the forum using terms only Tom can apparently understand. (Yes, many of us have been “guilty” of posting personal messages before, but not exclusively…)

    The bottom line, in my humble & unsolicited opinion, is to look to Mr. Overby alone for definitive news on shows. He has in the past been very forthcoming (witness the announcement of unconfirmed shows in this thread) & I have no reason to expect that to change in the foreseeable future… 😉

    Tom

    P.S. May I make a suggestion, HighMaintenance2099? Please post private messages to TOverby as a “PM” (Private Message). To do so, click his user name to the right of any of his posts, then click the “Send private message” link under “CONTACT TOVERBY”. Thank you.

    Admirable restraint, Mr. Moderator–and you accomplished it with mainly lowercase lettering, standard typeface, and basic principles of English grammar and syntax.

    The website http://www.gruenemusicandwinefest.org/friday.html has new details for Lu’s October 7 show. Tickets on-sale September 6.
    For only the band show after 9 PM: $40
    For the private show and dinner + the band show: $75 for general admission area;
    for tables of 4 through 10 guests, $500 to $1500 per table.
    See the table map, and the general admission zone on the website.

    I reviewed a lot of the venues for Lucinda’s upcoming Fall 2011 concerts and have come to the conclusion that the Gruene Hall (pronounced Green) gig is perhaps on the top of the list if I could attend.
    1. It’s the oldest dance hall in the Lone Star State (since 1878).
    2. For 75 bucks you get a private Lu concert, a catered dinner, a chance to bid on one of Lu’s autographed guitars and a full concert after dinner.
    3. It’s all for a good fund raising cause-the United Way.

    Now a little review of Lu’s past performances at Gruene Hall.
    She appeared there with Patti Griffin on April 29, 2001 as part of her pre-Essence release tour.

    Here’s an article from Texas Monthly about Tracie Ferguson the exclusive booking agent for Gruene.
    It’s a great read including mentioning the ex Mayor of Gruene going to the Hall so much that they served him beer at only 10 cents, and a 2 hour telephone conversation with Lucinda and her laryngitis’.

    And step inside Gruene Hall for a brief tour with Mary Jane Nalley the owner.

    Tom: Are you guys trying to put anything together for a Sacramento show on the way to the Fillmore?

    It’s being discussed, but nothing set yet.

    I was in the last group that did not get to meet Lucinda after the concert, Lucinda was beat after that long tour. So maybe I will get my chance in Athens. We did talk to David Sutton after the show, and he is a sweetheart.

    I was in that group too!!! And so very grateful for the signed poster, which is happily at home on my wall.

    I’m hoping Savannah is a go, and wishing I could make it to Athens!

    @Tom O
    Any chance we might get a Wichita or KC show this fall?

    Doubtful -we already did KC and while I do need to find a show or two to route from the midwest to the west in early Nov. I’m not sure that Wichita will work. I actually did bring it up as a possibility earlier this week but Lu’s agent seemed of the opinion that they don’t really have the right venue.

    I’m not sure if Columbus, OH is on the radar or would work regarding schedule, but that seemed to be a great gig (at Promowest/Pavillion) in October of 2008.

    I’m expecting that they will happen. Just been finishing up the first half of the leg as we had a couple of late changes, which i will have more info about soon.
