KeymasterGood post globejam. It is ironic that Lucinda’s performances in sympathy of the 99% helps fill the piggy bank of the mysterious 1% er from Denver. I wonder if there is any performance venue in Los Angeles that does not have a similar unsavory connection. Something tells me the bad guys have everything locked up tight.
As far as the fees are concerned, it sucks out loud. Do they create the fees to make extra money they don’t have to share with the artist? I admit I pay it without complaint when I shouldn’t. I fear they would tack it on somewhere else if we refused to pay.
Glad you enjoyed the show.

ParticipantI completely wondered the same thing when I paid those “convenience” prices, without doing the homework. Wow and sad that they won’t let you show up and pay cash at the box office weeks ahead.
As one who likes to pay cash often (after having your identity taken, it teaches you to not swipe. Plus the fact that we all pay higher prices to cover the swipe fees of a few)June 21, 2012 at 4:57 am #49012sandra92
ParticipantMy 10 year old son birthday is due for next month and he wants to throw a small friendly party so looking for a birthday venue in Los Angeles under 800$, this is the budget we set for his party. So, any event places.

KeymasterFor my 10th birthday party, the neighborhood kids came over and we played games in the back yard, then bobbed for apples. Then my mother turned the hose and sprinkler on and we ran through it. Hilarity ensued.

It took 3 minutes after first joining the Forum to craft and send THIS? Sorry, I am only conversant with large and hostile party venues. But kudos to the moderator for leaving this here for laughs, and any photos of Tonyg at age 10 will be most welcome.

KeymasterI actually have a picture from that day, although not an action shot. I’ll find it and post it.

ParticipantAlthough the birthday party admission is free, Ticketmaster is charging a $20 convenience fee.

KeymasterHere it is for good or ill. Luckily I have no pride left. I’m the bruiser in the back row extreme right in the red swimsuit.

ParticipantNow, that’s Americana! When kids still played outside, with toy guns, and your mom wouldn’t let you back in the house until it was dark outside.

ParticipantWho’s the little girl to your right in the photo, tonyg? She looks upset. Did you do something mean to her? 😈

KeymasterThat’s Jeannie Town. It certainly looks like I did something irksome. The beginning of a long career in irking people.

Judging by that smirk on your face, I think you just may be right… 😆
