YAY! It was dicey there for about a half hour with the ‘tickets not available’ message, but after hitting refresh a few thousand times, I was able to get tix for all 3 nights! 😀

Congrats, West Words! I’m so happy for you! It will be great to say goodbye to 2016 and say hello to 2017 with Lu.

stoger will be glad to know that “Mike from Iowa” finally got set up as a user on this board as backstreets! Anyway, missed the pre sale for Evanston last week as I was on the road for the last two Springsteen shows of the current US tour (only a “slight” reference to my username), so if anyone is aware of a way to acquire (or has an extra or two) for all three Evanston shows, please let me know.

Glad to finally be on the board!

By popular demand (is there such a thing as unpopular demand) we will be announcing the addition of a fourth show on the 28th. The announcement will be on Mon. I believe they are holding back some tickets for the New Years Eve show also but not sure yet when they will release those.

When Tony G gets back from cavorting around Italy he can change the date in the headline -or of course I can do it now.

I can still cavort even at this advanced age. After 2 straight nights of arena shows, entirely in Italian, my mind is a mess.

Ps. I edited the main title but that won’t fix the subsequent posts.
Pps. I get back home on 9/30.

Are we to understand you are a devotee of opera now, Tony?

I wouldn’t mr.S. I am here to see the famous Italian pop star Zucchero who is doing a 2 week stint in Verona with a certain guitarist in his employ who is a friend of the FF. They leave for a 2 month tour of Europe after tonight’s show.

But good guess. The opera is here all summer in this 1st century arena. Other players in the band are Brian Auger on organ and 2 members from Princes band on drums and guitar. All fun peeps.

ah, I see that “executive producer” credit from a couple of years back has come home to roost. Selling swag and more, I bet you’re up to. My best to DP and the Italians. Ciao.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this FF?? 😀

Welcome aboard, backstreets, AKA ‘Mike from Iowa.” The Boss always puts on a good show, always, except for that Tom Joad period, IMHO. 😮

Anyway, hope you can score a seat to this recent show addition!

Thanks Lafayette and tonyg for the warm welcome! I did score tickets for the 28th, and will be beggin’, barrowin’ and stealin’ for tickets for me and Mrs. backstreets for the other 3 nights!

As to Lafayette’s reference to the Boss’s Tom Joad period – I never had the opportunity to see any of the shows on that tour. However, I know that tour and the Devils and Dust tours (on which I did see 11 shows) were pretty much labeled as the STFU (shut the *#%^ up) tours, where audience partipation for the most part was discouraged, and very few of the favorites were played, so it was a different vibe. Specific to Tom Joad, It took me 10 years to warm up to that album, but since then rates in my top third of Bruce’s albums (in fact, I just listened to it again last night), along with Tunnel of Love, which I didn’t warm up to until I saw the tour in 1988.

It also took a while for me to “get” Luncinda. I had Fillmore for probably 5 years, had only listened to it a couple of times, but for some reason gave it another listen, and have been absolutely hooked since the first time I saw her live in 2011. And what I really love (and this is a Boss thing too) is the changing set lists, for which I give Tom O. HUGE, HUGE credit, and obviously is the reason I want to catch as many shows on a multi-night stand as possible!

Looking forward to running into as many of you folks as possible in the future!

    Mike
