Good performance. I have no idea who any of those people are.

    American Music Shop?

I recognize Pettibone, Jerry Douglas on dobro and Mark O’Connor (I think) on fiddle.

Don’t know about the drummer, bass and piano players.

    Thanks for posting this, LWj!
    Great quality video.

American Music Shop-Good detective work Drunken Angel. Great TV series shown on TNN. You sure know your “Luololgy” to quote Tnt.

I googled AMS and got “American Musicological Society” Not right so I stopped the video where you could see the blue neon sign in the window and held a mirror to my computer screen and voila.
Also correct on J. Douglas and M. O’Connor-both part of The American Music Shop Band.
Don’t think Doug Pettibone was there way back in 1992, I believe he joined Lu’s band in 2003 on the “World Without Tears” album.
Anyone else help us out on the rest of the band?

Lu looks the same in this video as in the 1989 DVD Live from Austin, don’t you think?

    Super video – I like the Asian subtitles… 😉

I’m clueless on the other band members (other then to say I don’t believe Doug P. is present).

I thought the guitar player looked like a younger Doug P. My eyesight is failing in my old age. ❗

And I knew American Music Shop from watching “New Music” way back when on TNN. They had some pretty good artists on there.

I didn’t see Doug there. The Asian language subtitles weren’t a real big help either.

For some reason Lu looks taller in those older videos. It must be the camera angles.

    Drum Roll please.

In the years that have followed, Harry has not only enjoyed No 1 success as a drummer and singer, but as a songwriter and producer as well. He co-wrote Martina McBride’s “Wild Angels,” and co-produced Trisha Yearwood’s “XXX’s & OOO’s, both of which went to number one. He has also been a familiar face on CMT and GAC. In the early nineties he was part of TNN’s groundbreaking house band for “The American Music Shop,” a show that showcased some of Nashville’s most critically acclaimed talent with artists from other genres. As a music director, he has been responsible for nearly 100 hours of network and cable music shows.End Quote

On his “My Space” page, there were a # of photos from early to later years. He has quite a list of achievements.

P.S. Here I am giving away the answers.

So it wasn’t her regular band, it was the show’s band. Which explains why no one looks familiar.

As trivia questions go, this was a tough one.

You are right on the money tonyg-Show’s band.
I thought Gurf Morlix was there at first, but now I believe it was Glenn Worf with the long hair.( bass )
Here is a link to Harry Stinson and Glenn.

    Tonyg-I was always 6′ 00″ in height.
We shrink as we age I believe. Now, at a young age of 65, I’m only 5′ 11 1/2″

One other thing to note on Lu’s appearance in this video. Lu was always and still is heavy on the eye shadow makeup but she pales to Mary C’s

The Asian subtitles are unusual but just look now at all the merchandise in Wal-Mart-all Asian.

The third part of the question could be:

Lu sang a couple of songs at a show this year with a band that included Jerry Douglas–name it.

Also -I was recently given all of the footage for the American Music Shop -which includes additional songs (and no subtitles) -and the closing credits–so just let me know when you “give” and want the names of the additional band members.

Here are the additional songs I believe.

What we have here is an audio rip of Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams, & Tim O’Brien, recorded from the American Music Shop On TNN 09-30-1992. Source is from my VHS HI-FI tape. Transfered to cassette, then put on CD and then ripped to my computer. Sound quality is excellent! The American Music Shop band featured Mark O’Conner and Jerry Douglas. They provide back up for this very very nice show.
01 I Feel Lucky, Mary Chapin Carpenter
02 Rhythm Of The Blues, Mary Chapin Carpenter
03 Something About Happens When We Talk, Lucinda Williams
05 One Way Street, Tim O’Brien
06 Like I Used To Do, Tim O’Brien
07 I Am A Town, Mary Chapin Carpenter
08 He Thinks He’ll Keep Her, Mary Chapin Carpenter
08 Little Angel, Little Brother, Lucinda Williams
09 Lilly Of The West, Tim O’Brien
10 Passionate Kisses, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams, & Tim O’brien

    All band members?

    Matt Rollings-Piano, Mark O’Connor-Violin, Jerry Douglas-Dobro, Harry Stinson-Drums, Glenn Worf-Bass Guitar.
