Saw Emmy Lou Harris last night and was hoping for a Lucinda song and she came through bigtime! She played a very touching “Sweet Old World”! This was my first time seeing Emmy Lou Harris and I thought she was fabulous!

Emmylou recorded Sweet Old World on her Wrecking Ball album, which I can highly recommend.

Thanks Carl,I did not know that.I regret to say that I do not own any of Emmylou Harris’s cd’s. They were selling her new box set at the show but Ithought it was too pricey. I really love Pancho and Lefty. Is that on wrecking ball?

Pancho and Lefty is on the “Luxury Liner” album. A very good album.

the boxset is worth the money just to have emmylou sing snowin on raton……….she’s another national treasure. i hold the night when she showed up at the el rey, danced around with lucinda and then sang the king of broken hearts with jim lauderdale & lu, as one of my musical highlights/musical ecstasy for a gram parsons fan.

    Stella,

I agree that the last night at the El Rey was terrific. My three highlights of the 2nd set guests for all the shows were:

    1. Jim Lauderdale “King Of Broken Hearts” with Emmylou singing harmony
    2. Emmylou Harris “Red Dirt Girl” (Emmy playing great guitar on this)
    3. Mike Stinson “Unslip My Mind” (title could be a little different; not sure)
