I agree Tom; “Sea Of Tears” is a step up for Eilen and the band. I like the fact that it has more of a Rock & Roll sound to it, with Eilen even playing organ on three tracks. When I last saw them Eilen commented on the organ playing and mentioned that she’s never played it on stage. She said, “It’s pretty hard to carry an organ around with you when you’re traveling the country in a van!” I can’t wait for the next record, but it may be awhile. They’ve been on the road most of the year and are heading to Europe in a few weeks for a month and a half of touring. When they get back to the States’ they are booked thru February.

Here is a link to a short article about Eilen Jewell & Laura Viers playing (separately) later this month in Vermont…

Thank you for the link, Tom; I enjoyed reading it. Eilen is definitely “the real deal”. Her and the band did an incredible amount of touring last year, throughout Europe as well as the States’. They are right back at it again in the new year. I may be seeing them on back to back nights in May. It’s a great experience to see them play live.

Thanks for the link, Tim. I am definitely going to have to check Ms. Jewell out the next time she comes to Atlanta…

Eileen covers “Get Right With God.” Most excellent. Not to be missed, all the lawn (and chair) dancing beginning around the 2:50 mark. 8)

I’m hoping to catch Eileen at a small bar in Covington, KY, Molly Malone’s. I just tried to order tickets online and had issues getting in to website to purchase. I called the bar and was told there are 12 tickets left, first come, first served, although the general manager told me he would put two on hold for me. 😉

Hopefully, he is not blowing smoke and puts them aside. I’m excited to see her.
