Anyone here a fan of the stupendous Eileen Rose & The Holy Wreck?

I came across this band when I saw them play live one night in April last year, and I’ve simply not stopped listening to them since. They play a real diverse mix of styles which is kind of hard to catorgorise (sound familiar?) Is is rock? Is it country? Is it Americana?

Anyway, who cares about labels… to me Eileen is one of those fantastic songwriters who sound better and better the more you listen to them. Her cool band, The Holy Wreck, include Nate Stalfa (ex Knockdown Socitey, Caitlin Cary & Thad Cockrell) on drums, The Legendary Rich Gilbert (ex Frank Black, Tanya Donnelly) as maestro on guitar and pedal steel, and Josh Hedley on fiddle & vocals – Go check ’em out, and grab the brilliant free mp3 over at their Reverbnation page! http://www.reverbnation.com/eileenrose

I love the video of this beautiful song ‘Silver Ladle’ from their upcoming album… awesome pedal steel from Rich Gilbert!

They’re big on European touring mostly and looks like they’re hitting Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Italy & the UK this October/November time – dates up on http://www.myspace.com/eileenrosemusic

ER is a Boston MA native (and a 12yr UK resident), but she lives in Nashville TN these days, so hopefully for you Americans there’ll be some US dates to promote the new album soon.
