Chuck’s musings on “the biz”. Typos & all, he’s fucking brilliant…

    On MP3’s:

Thatโ€™s the dope that you want. Itโ€™s the dope thatโ€™s important. Itโ€™s not the needle. If you got to have it, you just got to have it. On cassette, vinyl, CD or whatever. If you need to hear Dusty Springfield singing The Look of Love, youโ€™ll seek it out.

Let’s check on showman Chuck for West Words to see what he’s been up to lately.
Seems like he did a wedding gig recently singing with the groom while the bride is in the audience.
    Here’s Part 1.

Wooooooooooo, here is a Halloween treat – no trick – from Chuck E Prophet, from his sorta monthly e-newsletter. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Folks,

If you just tuned in, I’m out playing some solo gigs in the Wild East. Playing some new songs from Temple Beautiful – the record we’re currently wrestling to the ground. For better or worse, the record is a kind of love letter to San Francisco. It won’t be out until January but we’re giving a track away for Halloween because… well, I don’t know why… because we’re generous and it just seemed timely, that’s all!

    It’s called Castro Halloween.

Download it for free here: http://fburls.com/95-4e2a7e9H

They say tricks are for kids…and phone sex is for adults, and Halloween is for preadolescents in Lady Gaga and Ghadafi masks. But one thing is for sure: everyone knows you can’t top the Castro Halloween for beautiful freaky weirdness. I can’t say I’ve ever been much for costumes, but in true Chauncey Gardner fashion I like to watch.

A couple years ago things got out of hand. Someone brought a gun to a party, and that was that. Now it’s up in the air whether they’ll have Halloween in the ‘hood. They tried to move it to Civic Center a couple times but guess what, it’s not the same. Long live the Castro Halloween!

    Love and Rockets,

    CP

Chuck’s CD release party for his new “Temple Beautiful” was a bus tour of San Francisco with 40 lucky fans, concluded with a show at The Catacombs.

How fun! And no, I was not there. ๐Ÿ™‚

Great album inspired by the beautiful and unique city of San Francisco!

… through the music and twisted sensibilities of Mr. Chuck E. Prophet. ๐Ÿ™‚

I ‘think’ the Post Office that is now at the site where “Temple Beautiful” was located, is the same Post Office where we were directed to wait outside in line, in the rain, for the Fillmore shows. 8)

    Love this new album!
