I Just Wanted to See You So Bad
Something Wicked
Car Wheels
People Talkin’
Those Three Days
I Know All About It (Lu deems it “that old thing” in terms of the time passed since she wrote it, says a bit about the female who inspired it without revealing a name, and generally discusses the need to play out the new songs: “There’s a lot from the new album we haven’t even performed yet”]
Ghosts
Place in My Heart
Drunken A (duo)
Jackson (David has to prompt monitors guy Matt to raise sound on the upright)
I Envy the Wind [LU reflects afterwards on trotting out these “old” songs; to me as a fan, “Envy” is one of the first songs I ever heard live, when it was new, and it seems almost like yesterday]
Burning Bridges
Out of Touch
Dust
Unsuffer Me [lu is very moved after those two back to back, and says so]
Blessed
Honeybee18 Hard Time Killing floor Blues
Ain’t My cross to Bear
JoyThis was as fine a show as almost any of late. Lu used the term “mini-residency” and marveled at how different each is from night to night. But Viv and others tell me Friday night was superb too. The woman is cooking. #11 and 16 were surprises, but how can anyone be too surprised any more. The catalogue is vast, the woman encompasses it. Good to see photographer Peggy, Ohioan Cindy/lafayette, Viv, and Cindy’s brother John. Among others. Life is sweet.

Thankfully, your cross country flight was without incident and you made it to the windy city, snow showers and all.
You’ve covered the set list with bracket commentary, where necessary. I can’t recall anything to add to your summation. I’ll take over duties in Louisville. Geez, you’d think we would have given you a break since you were celebrating your birthday!
The room was amazing. My brother was sitting along the side of the stage on David’s side and commented the sound was great.
I just checked my setlist.fm page. The last time I saw Lu (not counting the show in Nashville with Roseanne and EmmyLou) was last February in L.A. at The Regent! 😯 FAR TOO LONG. I needed last night. It was wonderful. Thanks all!
