1 Ramblin’ on My Mind [without the rhythm section: Lu stops halfway through and says she can’t hear Chet; the song starts again from the top and comes off superbly]
2 Jambalaya [with Butch out further front, working one unit only]
3 Lafayette
4 Happy Woman Blues
5 I Just Wanted to See You So Bad
6 Big Red Sun Blues
7 Side of the Road
8 Something About What Happens When We Talk
9 Pineola
10 I Lost It [slight false start, but no problem]
11 Drunken Angel
12 Right in Time
13 Out of Touch
14 Essence
15 Righteously
[Lu uses this interlude to reference the 20’s/30’s blues act Butterbeans & Susie, as an influence on “Righteously” and others, then improvises/recites a few bars of a song called “I Want a Hot Dog on a Roll”]
16 Fruits of My Labor
17 Are You Alright [with talk of the Vietnam vet who so influenced the Greensboro setlist a year ago, Lu noting that he taught himself guitar so as to perform this song at his buddy’s grave in Arlington]
18 Everything Has Changed [“a song for our times”]
19 Tears of Joy [for Tom]
20 Honeybee [the masses flood their way past security and stand up front during]
_______________________________________________________________________________
21 I’m So Happy I Found You [take note, Lafayette]
[an interlude ensues wherein a local couple emerges from the wings and a proposal is made on stage and accepted]
22 Happy
23 It’s a Long Way to the TopWonderful night in the Shenandoah Valley, true autumnal temperatures in the 50’s and rain pouring throughout: even though the seats in the Pavillion were covered, the wind blows the rain around and Lu thanks us multiple times for coming out. I enter with a cold and emerge with flu-like symptoms, no sleeves and no jacket. But hell, it’s Lucinda. I’ll get over it. Everyone seems happy and Lu announces she’s looking forward to going into the studio after October and setting down some new songs which are emerging. Watch this space for some potential 30th anniversary shows in the second month of ’10, west coast. Looking forward to seeing some Forum folks in New York, and to those who will pick up the ball and post setlists and comments from Norfolk and intermediary stops this coming week. Bedtime.
September 27, 2009 at 6:51 am #40733stellablueeeParticipantwow, you’re a real trooper stoger. get some rest and hope you shake that bug soon!!!!
lisaSeptember 27, 2009 at 12:49 pm #40734LeftyParticipantA trooper and a warrior, Lisa. The man even posts the set list and commentary while facing personal adversity! Feel better very soon, – -oger. I’m a believer in zinc tablets to fight off colds, etc. It may be me, but, besides the wedding, recent Lu shows seem to be more like “happenings” instead of just concerts…
September 27, 2009 at 3:42 pm #40735tntracyParticipantThanks, stoger – excellent report as usual. Get better quickly & we will see you in NYC next weekend…

September 27, 2009 at 8:38 pm #40736RhonParticipantThanks Stog. Go straight home and take to your sick bed. We will see you in NYC next week.
September 27, 2009 at 10:47 pm #40737RainydaymanParticipantSweet!!!
September 27, 2009 at 10:51 pm #40738stogerParticipantSickbed indeed. Thanks to all for your concern, but today broke cool and clear in the Upper South–as did my fever, for the most part. Only about 300 more miles to go before “home” and the working week confront me. Onward.
September 27, 2009 at 11:11 pm #40739StickParticipantHere are some picts from last nights show. Great show.

Nice pictures. First time I’ve seen Lu in that type of hat – it’s cute on her!
Thanks for posting the link, Stick…

September 27, 2009 at 11:24 pm #40741RainydaymanParticipantIt’s a cute hat Tom, but in my opinion Lu looks better in a cowboy hat (or no hat at all). I’m just saying.
September 28, 2009 at 2:09 am #40742LeftyParticipantThanks for the pix, stick.
That hat is gangsta! (whatever that means)September 28, 2009 at 2:47 am #40743tntracyParticipant@Rainydayman wrote:

September 28, 2009 at 5:30 am #40732LafayetteParticipantGreat setlist with lots of aaahs from me including “Tears of Joy” for Tom and the proposal on stage not to mention ” I Am So Happy I Found You” finding it’s way back into setlist. 🙂
I know this is the 30th Anniversary Tour, maybe it could be dubbed the 30th Anniversary Honeymoon Tour. That certainly could have unsuspecting fans scratching their heads.
Hope you feel well stoger. Friend to friend advice, pack your jacket for NYC. Could be chilly in the night air.
