Until the threads are joined, I’ll comment here, with much appreciation to Tom for starting us off. I’m assuming the rhythm section is along for the [sometimes bumpy] ride? Rhett Miller being early on stage reminds me of a Red Rocks festival where he was late, joining the Old 97’s midset after a late flight incident or some such, two or so acts before Lu worked her magic as the penultimate bill in front of Ryan Adams. As for Lafayette’s predicted mutiny, let’s hope that “diva” blogger kept to cabin.
Nice variations apparently from night to night, even if encores are “quick” (not to say token), and it’s good to note the Lu tendency to interject songs like “Jackson” at the eleventh hour is not just a landlubber phenomenon. It sounds like the vibe has some of the best of the Car Wheels era up through the present, based on the personnel up there from set to set. More please, Tom.
