Calgary 7/26

Calgary rocks. Now that is how you do a festival. Well run and organized -great backstage setup and really great and big crowd. It was a shorter set than Lu usually plays so we decide pretty much to come out rockin’. With every song you could feel it build and build. And you could see the momentum just lifting Lu up. BY the time she got to Rockin’ In The Freeworld, by the world’s greatest Canadian. everyone was on their feet -6000+ people and most of them singing along -awesome to see. When Lu came off, breathless, she said “man the adrenalin just lifted me up, I wasn’t even sure I was standing on the stage. It was awesome”. Can’t say anymore than that.

Ok -we’re going to stop complainING about the bus -our sound person flew in after finishing up with Neil Young and said the crew bus they had on the Neil tour was just as bad as ours. We also heard a couple other horror stories. This tells you everything about about the bus companies.
We did have a great time hanging out with, Hubby, Malcolm, Jamie and Jason, the guys from Rihannon Giddens band -everyone had a great time. Big props to the Calgary Folk Festival.
