Gig # 3 of 32 preliminary reports.
The opener is Jimmy Livingstone.
His newly released debut album is entitled ” One eye open, One eye closed” and was co-produced / mixed by none other than Eric Liljestrand and also features the new daddy on guitar Mr. Doug Pettibone plus the “Butch” on percussion.Concert details.

BlessedA lovely show, Lucinda seemed enjoy it and looked resplendent dressed all in black. This was the first time I’ve ever seen A complete Lucinda show without a drummer so it was especially interesting for me to hear drum-free arrangements of Essence, Joy, Honey Bee & Changed The Locks. I even had a strange moment of deja vu when towards the end of Essence Doug started quoting the guitar riff from the Yardbirds’ Over Under Sideways Down, it was only a couple of weeks ago I saw Chuck Prophet at his London show quote the very same riff.
Just before playing Essence Lucinda took off her acoustic guitar only for the roadie/guitar tech to come on stage and put it back on her. She then explained that it had taken them about 25 hours to drive from the Belfast show to Brighton and that the tour bus had gone ahead to Sweden with some of the band’s gear including her electic guitar and amp!
This explained why David played a Fender Precision all night. Doug played a tobacco sunburst Strat on most of the songs with occasional use of a cherry red Les Paul (I think), a black & white Tele also made an appearance on one song.
Born To be Loved was dedicated to Doug’s new arrival, Hudson.
All in all it was nice to have this show in such a great venue as a taster for when they return to the UK for the main course…

Yup Blue is way up there for me, get goosebumps everytime I listen to Lu`s vocal on that one, just superb.
All time fav ?…..well just too many to choose from to come out and state that, maybe 1st equal, with many others.I am unable to choose my fav album never minfd my fav track, and this does in fact change from day to day.

Stoger, I’m actually going to miss that one in my adopted home town due to a double booking with Neil & The Horse at the O2, however I’ll be popping up at a few of the others on an extended railroad trip oop north, as we say in these parts…
