Words are not enough to explain what it meant to be so far from home, yet meet total strangers, feel like they are old friends, share a common love of Lucinda’s talent and top it off with an amazing show. I must be in heaven? Fate works in the strangest of ways. Thank you to everyone we met the other night, I knew this trip was going to be amazing, but the experience of the other night will be pretty hard to top. Thanks again to all.

My pleasure, Dulux. Good people on this Forum, plus others met at shows who aren’t necessarily on the Forum. PaulfromLos Angeles definitely expects you to turn out for your countrywoman Kasey C this Saturday.
Meanwhile, we await west words’ posting from Bowery night two, with my slight addenda.
August 8, 2012 at 2:59 pm #50299tonygKeymasterThe Friendly Forum hits the road and helps people!
Stoger, can you describe the venue and neighborhood? How is the weather? The locals?
August 9, 2012 at 1:28 am #50301tonygKeymaster🙂 Pretty sure I see Stoger and West Words standing in front of Doug in the videos above.

West Words has been swirling in the Vortex of Doom for about the past year, and it has even begun to manifest in Lu travels.
For the Colorado shows, of course there was the horrific massacre. On an annoying level, the valet caused about $5,000 worth of damage to my rental car, with the hotel trying to absolve themselves of liability. By dumb luck and for the first time ever, I had just happened to take a picture of the car the day prior which allowed me to prove that it wasn’t damaged prior. I think I may start making a practice of that.
My New York trip’s challenge has been with internet access and lots of time spent on the phone with tech support.
The Bowery’s second show wasn’t nearly as much fun for me as the first night. My crippled old back wouldn’t allow me to stand two nights in a row, so I stood away from the stage against a wall. There was an essence of Ben Gay in the air, but it wasn’t mine.
There was a gaggle of blonde hipsters, both male and female – who talked non-stop throughout the show. Not about Lucinda, more of the “Oh, your
hair looks so nice, where did you get it done? Oh hi, this is my friend so and so, remember the one I told you about?” And more blonde blather on and on and on and on, not that there is anything wrong with being blonde. I went tntracy on them in my own way, which was to just stick my head into their conversation and listen intently. Hipsters don’t like that one bit, but it doesn’t deter them for long. Another female forum member who was up at the stage was getting molested by some guy standing behind her, who was there with his wife. Said forum member snapped and gave him the what for, and some decent guy jumped in and told idiot he needed to leave.
I am sure Lu and the guys did a great job, but my perception was muddied by the aforementioned factors.
1. Pineola
2. Car Wheels
3. I Lost It
4. People Talkin’ (HOW APPROPRIATE!!!)
5. Greenville
6. Ventura
7. Born To Be Loved
8. Blue
9. Trying to Get to Heaven
10. Sweet Side (tour debut)
11. I Need Protection
12. Seeing Black (yay! perhaps Lu’s most under-appreciated song; was thrilled to get to hear this)
13. Bleeding Fingers
14. Out of Touch
15. Unsuffer Me
16. Essence
17. Honey Bee – ‘We need to write more songs like that. I think the Ramones got in there subliminally.’
18. JoyEncore:
19. Hard Time Killing Floor Blues
20. For What It’s Worth – with Amy and David
21. Get Right With GodAugust 9, 2012 at 6:14 am #50303dr winston oboogieParticipantWow—thanks for the info folks…sounds like a great show and time was had by all.
certainly would take this show in London in November, wishing my life away here. And congrats to dhen for his dad`s birthday mention….
isn`t Lu just fabulous…
August 9, 2012 at 1:45 pm #50304stogerParticipantOpening disclaimer: it wasn’t my Ben gay either.
Wow, completely missed the molestation of the anonymous female Forum member incident but hope to get filled in tonight in the new borough.
Congrats on using “tntracy” as an adverb, west words, nice image there.
“I Need Protection” and “Seeing Black” back to back was by far the highlight, for me.
Yes, standing to the side, back against the wall, seemed a good plan initially. But it turned out to be the portal of exit from the bathrooms and downstairs bar back into the main room. Not that many people going to and fro were too concerned with the proceedings on stage. Terrible spot, would rather have been quasi-molested up front. “Blonde blather” was only the least of it.
Tony, it’s hot: all you need to know. The neighborhood? Lower Manhattan Soho funky. Nothing to elaborate on–we’ll see what upper Brooklyn brings tonight.
Dr. Winston, I envy you both the wind and those early November London shows. Rumour has it there might be two more on the Continent proper, but I leave that to future news.
August 9, 2012 at 2:28 pm #50305tonygKeymasterGreat reports everyone! Damn those hipsters.
Are you sure about Sweet Side being a tour debut? I seem to remember hearing in in Portland. 🙄

You are my fact-checker, Tony. As I whispered to West Words at the time, “I THINK that’s a tour debut.”
