ParticipantGreat setlist!
Nice to see Big Red Sun Blues – one of my favorites, as well as We’ve Come Too Far return to the line-up.

Participantthanks, Tony and Mike. Mike, I sorely miss riding with you from show to show; thanks for that. The new song has both Lu and Butch instrumentally, and it gets stronger and stronger.

ParticipantThanks actually to Mike rather than Tony (who has his plate full otherwise) for this actual post. As I suspected, I couldn’t find the “edit” feature for the two I left out of the Bloom setlist. So it’s actually (14) Protection (15) Essence (16) Dust (17) Foolishness (18) HOneybee. That is, I think so. Kudos to Tom for the nudge.

KeymasterFrom Tom:
This past was definitely family week -and Lu’s sister was in the house in Bloomington and she wanted to hear Crescent City and Big Red Sun Blues, which hadn’t been played in a long time. I think Lu was actually a little nervous going into Crescent City and had a little brain spasm. She later opened the encore with a really great version of it—she was determined to make good on that. I received several messages about this show and on of the bestsellers from a well respected writer who sent this:
I’m compelled to write after last night’s extraordinary show in Bloomington. Last night was so inspiring to me. Lucinda’s voice has never sounded better in the 10-12 times I’ve heard her live since 1993. The acoustic songs were sublime. I feel like my idea of Lucinda’s music was impacted by last night’s show in some permanent way. I’m not sure I can articulate it any more than that at the moment.
There were several other just like that.
Oh yeah, Bloomington rocks. Every time.

ParticipantBloomington was a fantastic show, and, yes, Bloomington so R.O.C.K. s. <—[Mellencamp reference]. I’ve seen Lu twice at the Buskirk-Chumley and once at the Bluebird, on the Honeymoon tour. I caught a drum head and drum stick at The Bluebird when Butch threw it out to the crowd.
So good to see stoger and West Words. I sat with a Mellencamp friend who had never seen Lu live, and was on his bucket list. A lot of my JM friends know how much Lu means to me. It’s great to share a show with them. Speaking of drum heads, my JM friend thought the drum head at the merch table was really cool. He also thought it was signed by “Butt.” 😆 I told him, no…”Butch.”
We are so fortunate to have Lu touring as she does. I hope she keeps on rocking the free world for many years to come.

ParticipantOK, tony’s pic wasn’t enough to move me, but with mug shots of lafayette and SamishSeaMike visible, I may have to consider the visage of Stoger Ranley for public consumption. Let me ponder.
