    From Billy Bob’s website:

Live bull riding (not a mechanical bull) at both 9 PM and 10 PM, in the adjacent arena, just before the concert. You must be a credentialed rodeo athlete to compete.

Also, a house band, named “Niles City”, performing on the Honky Tonk stage, near the Main Stage.

I saw Steve Earle at Billy Bob’s in July. His show also began at 10:30.
It was an ok venue. The sound was average. The beers were expensive!

Also get reserved seating. It is worth it. The general admission is pretty far from the stage.

Paul. You must be kidding. I mean, I was just joking about the “Billy Bob Early Show.” Thanks for the heads-up though, and I’ll definitely renew my lariat and lasso credentials before they expire in September, the better to show up early and throw my hat in the ring. Quite a relief that we don’t have an artificial Mickey Gilley-Deborah Winger-Urban Cowboy situation here, everything live and animate at Billy Bob’s.

Parker, dust off those spurs and spare saddles. I’m coming at ya.

Also saw Steve Earle here in July for a great show. Kinda a rough venue, crammed in tight in tabels and chairs.
The sound goes out into the cavernous bar, but if you’re up close (don’t get caught on the sides) it’s allright.
It’ll beat the last place I saw Lucienda-Cimmaron Ballroom in Oklahoma City and we had to stand the whole time because there were no chairs. I do wish that her and Steve Earle could be booked in more “traditional” concert venues, but hey, I’d sit in a sticker field under a 107 degree Oklahoma sun to see ’em both. I don’t go to many concerts, Steve and Lucienda are my favorites and I’m tickeled that I was able to catch ’em both. Two of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time. I’m looking forward to the show. It’ll be fun to be back at Billy Bob’s.

Just printed out my ticket: I’ve received several perks on such things through the years, but never entitlement to “RIDE THE BULL!. . .Free Admission to Billy Bob’s Bull Riding held at 9 p.m. & 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.” Hell, no reason a 3-time Grammy-winner should alter that weekend pattern. . .

Parker, West Words, are we there?

I’m partial to hard copy, Lefty, so I’ve already ordered Rodeo for Dummies. Still, thanks for the link!
