Opening with Righteously was a really nice surprise… and then getting Real Live Bleeding Fingers three songs in had me convinced this was going to be a great setlist.. and it was! Near the end of the concert
About halfway through the concert it dawned on me that this was exactly what my summer was missing… a live Lu show outdoors. Got my fix and then some from this show. Near the end of the show, Lu seemed to really get something from the crowd as well.. talked of the great energy (something about not wanting to come off too hippyish đ
Great show..on to Missoula!

I think we can officially, and retroactively, call this tour the Fingers Crossed Tour. Every time we get on the bus to head to next city -especially with the long drives -everyone crosses their fingers that weâll make it. Right after we got to Billings the electrical generator blew out, but we did get there. Had a great mellow night before the show with dinner at Walkerâs and then across the street at Jakeâs.
A long time Lu fan who travels around to most of the shows had reached and wondered if 2 Kool 2 Be Forgotten was going to be in the setlist in Billings. Thinking it was a request we put it in. As Lu sang the line âRosedale Mississippi Magic City juke jointâ the crowd cheered and then we realized why he asked the question. You never quite know what youâre going to get closing out a festival on a Sunday but everything was perfect -the crowd, the weather. the hospitality of everyone working the festival. Magic City indeed.
Fingers crossed as we head to Missoula.
thanks for preserving my anonymity, Tom; “longtime. . .fan” captures it well. I try not to do blatant requests (though “Seeing Black” can never be done enough among the rockers), but I called a good one in Billings, if I may say so myself.
