Gig # 15 0f 32-Ready for comments tomorrow.
Venue is 300 seated with superb acoustics.
I’m sure it’s a given for “Get Right With God” on the set list.
Two pics. of the church, one from a postcard in 1901, and one as it appears today.[attachment=0:twnqgs72]Lu’s Berlin venue from 1901.jpg[/attachment:twnqgs72]lwj

And lots of chemistry on stage and audience interraction at the church last night.
Enjoy the video.

Of course my favorite is “Blue” ( also, I believe the favorite of tntracy and dr winston oboogie.)
Enjoy the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jShj0xqEKVEWonder if the set list also has “Like a Rose” on it as you can see what’s zip tied to Lucinda’s microphone stand
in “Jailhouse Tears” below.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFVbOvZ3p18&list=UUpzGH8gJiXQ3W9Ot7SUc4mQ&index=7

June 6, 2013 at 6:41 pm #51697TOverbyParticipantThis Berlin show is going to be one of the most unforgettable (legendary?) shows that I can ever recall. Starting with the venue, the incredible church pictured above -we knew it might be a unique night. Add in a sold out crowd of about 900-more about that later. And then I would say add in that special magic that happens just every so often. And of course the vibe and sound of Lucinda’s voice reverberating in that church was pretty amazing.
From the minute she walked out the crowd was just electric -one of the best welcomes ever -and it only got better from there. When she came out for the encore everyone had moved up to front of the makeshift stage which was only about a foot or so high so everyone was just a couple feet right in front of her. The encore started with Trying To Get To Heaven and Blessed and then someone set a large piece of paper at her feet which was a request for Jailhouse Tears, so that was quickly added. Then it was back to what was supposed the encore finale, Get Right With God, but that didn’t exactly settle anyone down so she broke into Stop Breakin’ Down to finish. She walked off to absolutely thunderous applause -and that was supposed to be it, Eric had called for the house music to start and the lights came up. But the only problem was that no one left -I stuck my head out of the back room twice and no one was leaving so I said “we gotta get her back out there”. At that point we were worried that front of house board was already shut down but at that poinrt it wouldn’t have mattered because she was on the way back out -if we didn’t have house sound that was the way it was going to be. She had decided to do Angel -which she asked Dougie to join in on so it was the first time he had played on it. She then called for Overtime which seemed very appropriate. At that point I think she could’ve kept playing all night but obviously that just couldn’t happen. One of the most amazing audiences I’ve ever seen. An incredibly special night. Here is the original written setlist -the starred songs are what was done extra -I added those in later so i didn’t forget:

And the rose in the mic stand was a nice touch by the fan.

June 7, 2013 at 6:06 am #51700dr winston oboogieParticipantThanks for the links LWjetta, I did not read review from TomO until after I had watched them, his comments summed up what I had just seen, Sound seemed very good, the stage backdrop was beautiful, and Blue, well no matter how often you hear this it still brings a tingle to the spine and makes the hairs o the back of your neck stand up.
Acoustics at Perth Scotland will be perfect for Blue.
Rock on Lu.
June 11, 2013 at 9:24 am #51701rangeParticipantTravelled 2000km to see Lucinda and worth every moment spent. Concert was amazing, I hope I’ll get to see her once more at least. Part of concert starting with Something Wicked… left me without words completely. And encore ofcourse was evidence of energy which was on stage that night. One more thing to point out: only time I had beer in church was this concert :).
Somehow in my wicked brain I figured out Lucinda will sing George Jones, but that’s just me :).See you sometimes again!
June 13, 2013 at 6:04 am #51702punchdrunkloveParticipantthis BLUE video is extremely moving. what a beautiful recording!
