TomO – is this a real deal? thx!
P.S. Hmmmm… New Years, Valentine’s Day…. aren’t those supposed to be romantic dinner nights? 😉 😀
Nah, rock ‘n roll is better. 🙂January 27, 2011 at 3:28 pm #45342tonygKeymasterGood find. I went to their website and didn’t see anything about this.
January 28, 2011 at 12:47 am #45343DavidinMaineParticipantzzzzzz… New news?… zzzzzzz…
January 28, 2011 at 4:09 pm #45344tonygKeymasterFrom what I can gather, Bardot is an “exclusive” club above the Avalon on Vine Street, across from Capitol Records. It is a place where cool, young, hip people go, like people who dress in black and have tatoos. Doubt they would let me in. They have music there and on Monday nights there is a regular thing called It’s a School Night and they do show LW down for 2/14. No ticket or other information.
For what it’s worth, Avalon was formerly the Palace and before that was the place where the tv show the Hollywood Palace was broadcast, from 1964 to 1970. It was the west coast version of the Ed Sullivan show. Lotta history there. I’ve driven by there a million times but I have never been in it. In the movie Against All Odds, James Woods and Jeff Bridges I think go to The Palace one night.
January 28, 2011 at 8:19 pm #45345TOverbyParticipantThe Its A School Night show, is put on every Mon. by Chris Douridas of KCRW, and Chris has been asking Lu since last year when he started off this Monday night series with Chrissie Hynde.
Lu and band are going to do it on Feb. 14th. with a 45-50 minute set that will feature several new songs. Someone else will also be playing after Lu, and I know Chris is trying to get someone who would make for a great night, but I don’t know if he’s been successful. Ironically Bardot is right across the street from Capitol where the record was recorded. It’s upstairs from the Avalon theatre and a great intimate room, that apparently used to be a speakeasy back in the 40’s. With the restored art-deco surroundings it still feels like one.January 28, 2011 at 8:25 pm #45346tonygKeymasterAny ticket info Tom?
P.S. After further investigation, it looks like there is no cover but there is a guest list one needs to be on. I RSVP’d to get on that night’s guest list. I’ll see if there is a reply.
January 28, 2011 at 10:01 pm #45347GrumpyMamaParticipantI also RSVP’d – not sure how they decide the guest list and only say that you will get an email prior to the night of the show…
Tom, any pull on the guestlist? I had to drag my hubs to NYE (thus the grumpy avatar, haha), so you can imagine what it’s like to get back down to hollywood from ventura on valentine’s night. Just curious about capacity and how much I should have a plan b for that night:)
January 28, 2011 at 10:04 pm #45348tonygKeymasterI’ll let you know if I get a reply to my RSVP Grumpy. It looks like Plan B is stay home.

the band Augustana is announced as a supporting act to Lucinda. More acts to be announced.
I’m still waiting for a reply to my RSVP. I promise to wear black, but no tattoo.
February 7, 2011 at 9:23 pm #45350TOverbyParticipantI’m sure the RSVP’s are still coming -we will make sure all of you are covered one way or another.
Augustana will be after Lu as we chose to take the 10:00 start time.February 7, 2011 at 9:58 pm #45351tonygKeymasterThx Tom.
Now you tell me, Paul. I am all tatted up head to toe. No hat.
February 8, 2011 at 7:17 pm #45352stogerParticipantBetween Tony and Paul, I think we’re covered by way of report
; in fact, I’m predicting one or both will split by the Augustana midnight hour and have setlists on file by the time those of us in the east rise in the Tuesday early dawn. Do include your final wardrobe details both of you–Paul, you’ll be on firmer ground here than that Stubbs outdoor quicksand, so white tennis shoes should play off your otherwise black garb nicely, not likely to get scuffed or dirtied at all.February 12, 2011 at 4:08 am #45353tonygKeymasterI heard back from Bardot and I’m on the list. Everyone else who rsvp’d should check their email. 😀
February 12, 2011 at 2:06 pm #45354cawaneParticipantI got the email confirmation too. Paul and Tony, what time are you 2 going to be there? Paul we met with Roger and Sandy MSP wedding. Hope to see you Monday! Caroline
February 12, 2011 at 5:16 pm #45355paul_from_losangelesParticipantYes, I have received my confirmation. Originally, I was planning to arrive about 9:45, just to see Lucinda. But, then I noticed they’re operating an overbooking system of first-come, first served till capacity–no guaranteed entry; so I’ll probably evolve somewhere before 9…
