Opening for Mellencamp was the marvelous Lucinda Williams. With a raspy, raucous style of country-rock, she and her band certainly lived up to the hype. Her rough, take no prisoners style resembled a cross between Chrissie Hynde and Janis Joplin and reminded this reviewer of the necessity to catch her again next time she’s in town. All in all, a great night of music under the tent.
