Band of Heathens

I saw the Band of Heathens last night at The Mint in Los Angeles. A bunch of nice fellas from Austin Texas who have perfected I think the whole Austin Americana folk rock and roll thing.

If any of you get a chance to see them live, run, don’t walk, to their nearest performance venue.

My pal Jonny Burke opened for them. He was once in a band called Dedringers. See him if he comes to your town. He will be opening for James McMurtry starting in June. He previously has opened for McMurtry, Ryan Bingham, and Hayes Carll.

Opening before him was an LA band called Patrolled By Radar. They were also awesome. LA peeps should keep theirs eyes open for a show soon. They will be playing at the Farmer’s Market on Fairfax this weekend and will be at The Cinema Bar soon.
