Seems like Lucinda and crew will be based in Austin for quite some time during SXSW.
Here’s my attempt at a re-cap of shows.

Wed. March 12-Austin Music Awards @ the Austin Convention Centre as previously reported by Lafayette.

Thurs. March 13-show at the Roost, no wristband req’d as previously reported by moi.

March 12-16 NEW FREE shows-part of the Pandora Discovery Den at the Gatsby afternoon and evenings by RSVP
Perhaps TomO could chime in and confirm what day or day’s Lu will be performing.

Just found this from the SXSW website.

    Lucinda Williams

A further update for Lu at SXSW.

Wednesday, March 12th 11:45 p.m.-12.25 a.m. outdoors at the Chevrolet Courtyard on Cedar St.

Friday, March 14th at the Paramount Theatre-A Tribute to Lou Reed.

Quite the busy agenda in Austin-5 shows.

I believe a sixth appearance was just announced as well…

“The amazing Lucinda Williams has been added to the Jimi Hendrix Celebration lineup at Butler on 3/13! http://ow.ly/ulzSN “

My money is on another classic version of Angel..

Sorry, but I’m confused. I don’t find Lucinda’s name in the link above for the Jimi Hendrix tribute.
More important, Lucinda is the featured (only?) act at the Roost, 15 miles north of Butler Park, at 9 PM.
Maybe, Lucinda could make an appearance at Butler Park, but it seems logistically difficult.

As paul_from_losangeles pointed out I think we have a suspect “tweet” about Butler Park.

Perhaps.. But then it would be two “mis-tweets”; the first from the organizer, and then the “re-tweet” from Lu..

Probably a brief “early” appearance would be my bet..

Yup, quite possible as you never know about Lucinda, Samish.
She has had many surprise appearances in the past.

For Friday night’s late show at the Gatsby you can hear Lu live on Pandora Radio.

As predicted… Lu kicked off the Hendrix tribute with “Angel”…. Before heading to the Roost.

Good investigative work, Mike: any other vicarious links or reports?

This snippet from The Austin Chronicle.. “The evening began with Lucinda Williams delivering a simple, soulful reading of “Angel” on acoustic guitar. Dave Alvin and his Blasters brother Phil Alvin convincingly laid into Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor.”

And a pic from Lu’s Facebook from the stage.. with this caption “One minute before the start of last night’s Hendrix tribute show which Lucinda kicked off with her stunning solo version of “Angel”. It’s great when your tour mgr has cool photography skills-Lucinda mgmt

I need to stop torturing myself by reading the show posts on the FF for shows I can’t attend 🙂
I don’t know who else played the Jimi tribute, but Anne McCue would have killed it with Voodoo Chile and Machine Gun. Jimi can rest easy with Anne and Lu out there!

Didn’t know you were a McCue nut too, vm. She actually had one gig in Austin during the Madness, at least one. Who knows, maybe she worked her Hendrix magic after all.

stoger, you could return tomorrow night (the 18th) to catch Anne at the Bluebird Cafe, only $10.00

Back to SXSW and Lucinda, here is “Pale Blue Eyes” from the Paramount Theatre on Friday night for the Lou Reed tribute.

Who will be the first to notice something quite different for the stage setup on this St. Paddy’s Day ?
