We all know and love Lu’s two DVD’s from 1989 and 1998 plus her more recent ACL appearance with Old Crow Medicine Show. Were there any other appearances?
Anyway, for those not aware ACL and KLRU are on the move from the 320 seat venue at the University to a new downtown Austin facility with more than 2,500 capacity.
As Lu says ” All I want is a full house and a rock ‘n’ roll band ” Let’s hope Lu can make a return visit.
Here are the details on the re-location.
http://www.current.org/music/music0914austin.shtmlBy the way, you can watch Willie Nelson in the ACL pilot episode from October 17, 1974 on the PBS ACL web-site.

If the following is correct, Lu also appeared as follows:
1992 Los Lobos followed by C.J. Chenier, Songwriters Special, Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks plus The Accoustic Warriors, Vince Gill followed by Alison Krauss and Union Station, Albert Collins followed by Danny Gatton, Travis Tritt followed by Holly Dunn, The Subdudes followed by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Trisha Yearwood followed by Hal Ketchum, Roseanne Cash with Special Guests Bruce Cockburn and Lucinda Williams, Kevin Welch followed by Will T. Massey, Doug Stone followed by Maura OConnell, John Prine followed by Jimmie Dale Gilmore, K.T. Oslin

And here is the set list.
This is a fine audio rip from an Austin City Limits VHS tape I taped back in 1992. 3 of my favorite artists, Rosanne Cash, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Cockburn, perform together and solo. Beautiful show. Cool guitars and awesome vocals by all. If you’re a fan of any of these artists down load this. As a bonus is some tasty Mary Chapin Carpenter from TNN, From a great now defunct show called The American Music Shop, Circa 1992.

LWJ, do you have a link for where you found the above quote? I’d like to hear that “fine audio rip”… 😉
Thanks,
Tom
EDIT: N’mind, LWJ – Google found it for me!
January 26, 2010 at 10:42 pm #42023tntracyParticipant…And, the file share link no longer works – Oh, well… 😥
There was a link to another page, however, that did work & that had this small pic of Lu from the taping:

Austin City Limits presents the unique talents of Rosanne Cash with two of her favorite songwriter friends, Bruce Cockburn and Lucinda Williams, for an evening of intimate acoustic music.

Posted by Camarillo BrilloIf you go back to that page and click on Link-It goes to Rapid Share but as a free user it says the server is too busy. Maybe, if we all are patient you can hear ” Hot Blood”
Here http://rapidshare.com/files/330733190/RCBCLWACL.rar
If I have any luck, I’ll keep you posted.

Tnt-It worked.
When I went back to Rapid Share and clicked free user it said to wait about 60 seconds.
The compressed .rar file took about 10 minutes to download to my trusty HP laptop.
Here is what Lu said before starting the song Hot Blood.
Quote: “This is fun. This is neat. We’re so lucky. It’s about one thing”. End Quote
The song is 5:08 in length and sounds great.
I just got home from bowling so I’m anxious to hear the whole set with Rosanne, Bruce & Lu.
Shoot me a PM if you are unable to get this collection.

Looks like we only got a taste of Lucinda ( 1/2 hour ) when she appeared along with Old Crow Medicine Show. This article talks about a full 2 hour set.
Maybe some day this might materialize into her 3rd DVD from ACL
It also mentions the complete re-taping of the 1998 DVD. ( After all she’s a perfectionist )
Here is the article.
