American Songwriter streams “Hey Kid,” Angela’s debut album, and thinks “it’s pretty great.”

Thanks Lafayette, but I think it’s a darn shame that theroretically I can save the entire MP3 album from this site before its offical release. I guess musicians main revenue stream these electronic days comes from their live shows rather then record sales.
I will patiently wait for Angela to return to the Cleveland area (in better weather) to get my CD.
Meanwhile, I love her voice on cuts # 10 and # 5.
She is doing all the right things to promote thru videos, radio stations and magazine articles exactly the way Erika Wennerstrom of the HB’s got into the big time.Ya gotta get her on WNKU radio.

January 17, 2014 at 4:44 am #50964LafayetteParticipantI’m going to her CD release show tomorrow in Columbus. Shall I pick you up a copy?
I don’t quite understand releasing downloads to promote records. It seems all the kids are doing it, indie and established artists alike. *shrugs shoulders*
I told Angela I would advocate to get her played on WNKU. I’m hoping the station will take notice with this CD release. I tried once before, however, they were EPs – not quite as receptive as a full length album. She is coming to Cincinnati in a few weeks, an Irish pub. I should feel right at home considering my strong Irish roots. The show is on a Friday. I’m going to suggest she call the station and ask for an On Air to promote the show. It’s downtown, and typically WNKU is happy to help establishments and artists promote shows in the area. I’ll keep you posted.

quote]You are the best Lafayette and this would be appreciated once again as I don’t see any shows in the Cleveland area coming up in the Spring. I’ll send you a money order or buy you a drink next time JM is in the Detroit / Windsor area.
Enjoy the CD release party in Columbus.lwj
January 24, 2014 at 3:52 am #50966LafayetteParticipantlwj, I didn’t make it last Friday to Angela’s CD release show — weather related — too much snow. I have plans to see her in Cincinnati in a few weeks.

Nice article and pics, Lafayette.
I glanced at Angela’s facebook and saw the band scheduled to open in Columbus got snowed in and guessed you had the same issue. Smart sense not to travel, like today here in Ontario with cold plus blowing snow.
I would say that both here and the U.S.A. 2014 is an “Old Fashioned Winter”lwj
January 25, 2014 at 4:16 pm #50968LWjettaParticipantReally a nice pleasant way to spend 15 minutes on a very snowy Saturday morning in case you missed it live Lafayette.
Interview with Angela on WOSU FM Columbus, OH taped from Friday’s All Sides show.
Angela is a very well spoken young musician, she brought along her Dobro and music saw.
Scroll to 19 & 1/2 minutes, ends at 34 minutes.

Great camera work Lafayette.
Certainly happy, toe tappin’ music to enjoy. Love Chris Connor’s guitar mastery.
Also, I spotted someone very familiar to this FF posting a “like” to your video. (tnt).lwj
February 11, 2014 at 7:20 am #50973LafayetteParticipantThat was taken with my 2+ year old iPhone. So convenient. I’m not sure how I ever left home without it.
I love Chris Connor. Nice guy. Helluva a lead guitarist.
Your signed CD will be headed north, hopefully tomorrow. 🙂
