I hope you make it for the new Southgate show Lafayette.
You will be lucky to see Angela in a venue like that.
Moi, not so lucky as I checked her schedule for NXNE ( a huge music and film festival in Toronto like SXSW in Austin ) and she is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. Thurs., June 13th at the Cameron House.( capacity is only 60 )
The catch is you have to purchase a wristband for the day and take your chances at getting into the venue since priority pass holders get preference over wristbands. So enjoy the show.

May 5, 2013 at 3:39 am #50918LafayetteParticipantI hope you get to see her one day, lwj. She’s releasing a full length sometime this year. Perhaps she’ll make it up north again to promote.
May 7, 2013 at 7:52 pm #50919LWjettaParticipantLafayette, check this new video out.
Produced in glorious black and white.Angela’s voice is superb and the vintage video scenes are priceless.
I especially got a kick of the girls sliding off the roof of an old auto into the water.Song is “Brooklyn Girls”
Enjoy.http://www.myoldkentuckyblog.com/?p=40298

May 8, 2013 at 5:44 am #50920LafayetteParticipantGood stuff, lwj. Some of the footage in that video was pulled from footage shot while on a mini tour last year to SXSW to play an unofficial showcase.
“Brooklyn Girls” is the first song on her latest EP.

We get to see a great photo gallery of Angela donning vintage clothing from South Gate Revival and I get an autographed EP unavailable in Canada eh !
Thanks so much Lafayette.By the way, Angela had a nice interview with the folks in Toronto setting up the huge NXNE music and film festival for June.
Here’s the interview-makes good Howlin’ Moon reading.http://www.examiner.com/article/angela-perley-and-the-howlin-moons-conversation-nxne-festival-2013
One never knows about concerts.-I just might make it to Toronto for the show and stand in line at the venue real early.
lwjMay 22, 2013 at 5:40 am #50924LafayetteParticipantI told her of your plight, lwj. I hope you stand in line to see her. Yes, if you read enough interviews about Angela, shopping for vintage clothing and items is her thing.
Apparently, the folks at Southgate House Revival liked her as she is now booked for a (free) July show in the lounge area [smaller area with a honky tonk feel). So, back to Southgate House I go but not before I see Holly Williams next week. 8)
May 22, 2013 at 5:45 am #50925LafayetteParticipantGood interview. I love it I pegged her early on as a young heart with an old soul. Spot on.
May 28, 2013 at 4:58 am #50926LafayetteParticipant…is opening for Holly Williams in Columbus on Sunday, June 2!

Hope you make it to that show billed as an acoustic duo.
Just wondering if Angela wondered into Holly’s boutique in Nashville to shop for clothes and the two hit it off.Angela now opening for a star, just like the HB’s did for that other Williams (aka Lucinda) and I feel the Howlin’ Moons are going to really succeed.

May 28, 2013 at 6:21 pm #50928LafayetteParticipantI would LOVE to attend this show, however, I’m headed south to Franklin, TN, outside of Nashville, for an AMA benefit on Saturday with hosts Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas with Amos as one of the special guests. Booyah!
On a side note, I do have plans to attend Holly’s show at Southgate House Revival on Thursday.
June 12, 2013 at 5:09 pm #50929tntracyParticipantWell, the little package from Lafayette arrived (THANK YOU again, Lafayette!) and, I must say, I was duly impressed. Nowhere Is Now Here is a mighty fine EP, mighty fine. Fine enough that, I sought out ways other than driving to Ohio to a show to acquire physical copies of her other three EPs, Fireside (2011), Yellow Moon (2011) & Black Cat (2010). Turns out, there are instructions on Angela’s Web site for doing so directly from her label (Vital Records). A few e-mails back and forth with a very nice person at Vital, a payment of $5 each plus exact postage, calculated based on my mailing address, and a PayPal transaction later (I threw in an extra $1 to more than cover the PayPal transaction fees incurred by the seller), and they were on the way. They arrived two days later (today), and I just retrieved them from the mailbox. I haven’t even listened to them or ripped them into iTunes yet, as I wanted to share my good fortune with others first.
I can tell you that, like Nowhere Is Now Here, all songs on all her other three EPs are written by Angela herself, so she is definitely abiding by the finest in singer-songwriter tradition… 😉
Tom
P.S. Angela and band are playing next month in Greenville, SC, at a dining establishment apparently known for it’s fine Southern cuisine. It is a mere 2 hour, 14 minute drive from my home (just a hop & a skip for fine fried chicken & biscuits, not to mention music), so I might just have a road trip in my future…
June 12, 2013 at 7:02 pm #50930LafayetteParticipantAngela is the bee’s knees, and I would think she would love hearing that allusion, as I’m convinced she was born in the wrong era. Her shows are high energy, and she has a great backing band.
Tom, the Greenville, SC venue looks to be the PERFECT place to see Angela. I hope it works out. In the meantime, you need to work your contacts in Atlanta and get her booked near you. 😀
June 13, 2013 at 8:56 pm #50931LWjettaParticipantAND, I just received my little package all the way from Ohio to Ontario today. I probably am one of the lucky few North of the Lower 48 to have an original autographed Howlin’ Moons EP as it is not available in record shops here.
Many, many thanks Lafayette. The last cut on “Nowhere is Now Here” is superb with Angela playing the saw.
Like tntracy does, I immediately saved the EP to my itunes and replaced the original in the sleeve.
Certainly interesting artwork on the packaging such as it looks like a spine on a book and reads “Pedia, Spandau to Trengganu 18. I’ll have to research that.Just found out Spandau was a prison in Berlin and Trengganu is a State in tropical Malaysia. So, what is Angela trying to tell us?
Now off topic:My little package also contained a genuine Andy York (Mellencamp) guitar pick.Awesome and thanks again. Here’s hoping Farm aid 2013 will be in reach for me.
