I’ve got a great sense that this place is going to be rocking tonight. ( a 1,500 capacity standing )

Lu has played there several times in the last ten years.

My intro for this venue is a clip I’m going to link to just for fun.

The event took place recently at the Paradiso wherein “The Chet” and “Mr E” celebrated playing together for ten years with the EELS, the clip comes complete with 4 Amsterdam prostitutes on stage.

I’m going to see her tonight. So excited 😀 Probably gonna be the odd one out in the crowd but we’ll see, hehe.
Will post the set list (= what I can remember of it) afterwards.

I loved the show! And she did many songs compared to other artists! This is the set list (I think I got at least all of the songs right, order might be a little off).

    Can’t Let Go
Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
    Right in Time
    Pineola
    Crescent City
    Lake Charles
When I Look at the World
    Sweet Old World
*a blues cover* not sure who the artist was
    Those Three Days
    Something Wicked This Way Comes
    Drunken Angel
    Come On
    Honey Bee
    Essence
Real Live Bleeding Fingers and Broken Guitar Strings
    Joy
Trying to Get to Heaven before They Close the Door *Bob Dylan cover*
    Atonement
    Get Right with God
It’s a Long Way to the Top
Robert Johnson cover (at least I think it was)

Surprisingly, she did absolutely nothing of her ”new” (2011) album.

lwj, posting the concert number sequence has been helpful in tracking the cities on setlist.fm. All cities are up to date, however, I can’t say the same for setlists. All in all, pretty darn good job.

Hard Time Killing Floor….. Agreed a great show. We are taking next few days off. Hopefully someone will cover Germany.

A fine, but not a really great show in Paradiso. Got the idea that there was no real chemistry between Lucinda, David and Doug. At least not untill late in the show. And I missed Blue.. one of the greatest songs by Lucinda. Oh well, it can not always be as fantastic as in Utrecht in 2009 🙂

Agree. It was a great setlist, but I got the impression something had happened before the show, at least Lucinda was in a bad mood. She hardly talked between the songs. I had expected her show would be positively influenced by the Paradiso audience, but that didn’t happen. The show in Eindhoven, while not her proper venue and audience, was fantastic. Last night I saw a different person.

Only during the encores did she cheer up a bit and it was as if to compensate for her earlier behaviour, that the encore was long (5 songs).
Had I not seen the Eindhoven show I’d have said a good show, but now I can only say not a bad show with a good encore.

    Setlist:
    01. Can’t Let Go
    02. Car Wheels On A G ravel Road

    15. Come On ( with false start)
    16. Honey Bee

I tend to agree about the lack of chemistry and with another writer about no percussion on stage. ( I know this was a budget constraint-just saying. )
Lots of cameras were going for the Paradiso, but I picked CWOAGR because of the overhead camera in action.

my god, what a bizarre, zombie audience. what’s up with the european water?

this is the most depressing front row audience i’ve ever seen. i mean, it’s CAR WHEELS. if people can’t move their heads to this song . . .
