I had a great time, true dat (a nod to NOLA speak). Believe it or not I wasn’t up front but a satisfactory place for me. There is a VIP section [an astronomical amount of money] which allows one in the 1st partition of barriers. I was positioned about 4 rows back in the peon section, the second set of barriers. I could have been on that second rail but DH was with me and he doesn’t do well with standing shows. He did make it thru Amos’s set but he was in the back of the crowd and watched on the big screen 😆 while I was able to maneuver thru the crowd without irritating too many.
May 6, 2011 at 7:56 pm #41073LafayetteParticipantAlso, I saw the newsletter mentioning the TV appearances and upcoming shows. I particularly loved the description … A very set of special shows with Lucinda Williams…in reference to this summer’s pairing where I’m almost certain to go into near cardiac arrest. I’m going to be wishing my summer away waiting on them.
May 28, 2011 at 4:50 am #41074LafayetteParticipantAmos Lee on Jimmy Fallon performing “Jesus” with The Roots Band. 4 stars.

June 18, 2011 at 3:53 am #41077LafayetteParticipantAmos with the Zac Brown Band at the CMT Music Festival per “The Boot.” A shout out at the end of the article in regards to the shows Amos & Lu are doing together. I cannot wait!

2 flipping weeks from tonight. Lu & Amos. Thump, thump, thump!
July 3, 2011 at 3:27 am #41080LafayetteParticipantAmos receives presidential invite to play for the military families on the South Lawn on July 4. Can be viewed on website linked in article. The fun begins at 8:15 p.m. A side note, Train is also playing. They put on a great show. Their bass player is amazing…use to help an independent band from San Diego he played with and he moved on and is now playing in the big leagues.

July 3, 2011 at 1:48 pm #41081LWjettaParticipantWhat an honor for Amos, Lafayette.
I’ll be tuned in to the broadcast for sure.
Boy, two of your top 5 artists appearing in Washington for the President.
I recall JM’s performance at the inaugural for Pres. Obama plus the Civil Rights Movement concert.lwj
July 4, 2011 at 3:18 am #41082LafayetteParticipantI know! Perhaps Lu will receive an invite one day. I fear one of my top five has fallen wayside. Stoll’s FB page (the one he updated) — disappeared. His website — gone. His twitter feed — nada. I fear he’s either thrown in the towel or not paid the bills.
July 5, 2011 at 12:11 am #41083LWjettaParticipantStanding by Lafayette for the podcast from the South Lawn.
Not familiar with the music of Train.
Wonder which song Amos will pick. Something from Mission Bell no doubt.
Don’t think it’ll be “Clear Blue Eyes”.July 5, 2011 at 12:21 am #41084LWjettaParticipantAha-The Set List
1. “Keep it Loose….2.Supply and Demand
Beautiful stage setting
3. “Out of the cold” ( re. dedication to a kid at Walter Reed Hospital.)
4.?? something with So Far Away From home lyrics and Statue of Liberty.
Then I lost the connection.
Great performance.

July 5, 2011 at 1:23 am #41085LafayetteParticipantOnly 4 songs in his set—so you didn’t miss anything. Not familiar with that last song—I’m guessing an original written for the occasion? It was beautiful indeed. The guy standing at the stage looked like he was overwhelmed with emotion during “Out of the Cold.”
July 10, 2011 at 5:02 am #41086LafayetteParticipantI’m starting to get weak inside thinking about the Ohio shows next week!
