Yeah, the Bardavon is in Po’town (aka Poughkeepsie, NY). About 3 hours away from yours truly. A much longer haul for LWj. I was supposed to see Ms Williams last year there, but extenuating circumstances nixed that deal. A great place to see a show, I’m told.

About 7 and 1/2 hour drive for me-too far and one never knows what December weather may bring.
However, I still have the option to see Amos / Dave Mathews Band in Buffalo on Nov. 2nd and of course, this Saturday at Farm Aid.
Thanks Lafayette for the info. The Bardavon looks like a great historic venue.

Okay, now I remember. I thought the venue sounded familiar. Hope you get to see LU next time, Lefty.
lwj, I would still hold out to see Amos in an intimate venue.
Also, lwj, look for a few girls in the 6th & 7th row wearing cheap straw cowboy hats and and a few sporting John Mellencamp siggies tattoed on a major portion of their arm(s). That would be us.

I assume Lafayette, this is your cheap cowboy hat.[attachment=0:16pzzm5q]UC Bearcats cheap straw cowboy hat $21.95.jpg[/attachment:16pzzm5q]
Only a suggestion re:Farm Aid , is for you to start a new thread entitled “Farm Aid 25” since it would be very handy to read your upcoming report all in one spot, as we have at least 4 great artists covered extensively on this forum. ( Willie, John M., Amos and NEIL )
Have a great time and I’ll be tuneing in to the webcast.
lwj
p.s. I’ll wait it out for a better venue to see Amos as per your suggestion.October 3, 2010 at 10:21 pm #41001LafayetteParticipantOh, I may have to get this hat! Love it.
I’ll start a Farm Aid 25 thread with a great photo link. I’m spent for now so it will be very brief update. One of the better lineups I’ve attended. This was my 7th FA since 2003. I missed 2004 when Lu made her appearance.
October 6, 2010 at 4:05 am #41002LafayetteParticipantShort notice, however, if anyone is interested, Amos Lee will be streaming LIVE from Saintrocke at Hermosa Beach, CA at 9:30 PM PT / 12:30 AM EST…less than a half an hour at following LINK.

October 8, 2010 at 5:28 pm #41003LWjettaParticipantJust a reminder Lafayette, that Amos is appearing at the ACL Festival in Austin today. 😆
Any of your fellow Amos fans going to be in attendance to capture a vid.?
Okay, a 2nd question for you.
Here is the autograph session schedule for today. Amos is not listed. too shy?

lwjOctober 8, 2010 at 7:13 pm #41004LafayetteParticipantHard to say lwj. I like to assess performers from afar, and my take could be so wrong, but from what I have seen of Mr. Amos Lee and my experiences asking to take pics with him.
He does not like having his photo taken.
At times, he doesn’t seem to mind video, and others, they are hanging no videotaping signs from the microphone and calling people out with a flashlight if they are filming. I just don’t think he likes the “in your face” videotaping, it’s a distraction to him. He mentioned the other night on the live feed from SaintRocke that he gets distracted by looking into the crowd.
He will gladly sign items after a show, especially if he was feeling the love from the crowd, so hard call on the autograph session.
He’s a man of mystery and I think he likes keeping it that way. All my opinion, of course, and you know what they say about opinions and assumptions…

Lafayette, I don’t know if you have seen this blog yet from the Saint Rocke web site but it is very highly complimentary of Amos.
The article is entitled “Pockets of Contentment-Green Room with Amos Lee”
http://analogchronicles.blogspot.com/2010/10/pockets-of-contenment-green-room-with.html
Also, it looks like the whole concert is now on You Tube. Some very good videos to watch.
Hope he makes it to Canada some day.

Tried this. FAIL for the mp3.
I got a confirming e mail that told me to click for the download then a http error # 403Anyway, it’s a great song.
Lafayette, wasn’t your guess for Lu’s wheels an El Camino ? ………connect

lwjNot sure if that was my guess or no. Apparently, Lu appears on “Clear Blue Eyes,” one song I have NOT heard Amos premiere at subsequent shows.
October 15, 2010 at 10:51 pm #41011tntracyParticipantIf any one else cannot wait until next year for the official release, here is a link to an advance copy of Mission Bell on eBay. I already gave Lafayette “first dibs” on it via an earlier e-mail, but she “passed” due to recent JM ticket expenditures… 😉
