Amos covered, as mentioned in the Billboard piece, “Growing Trade.” I can’t believe you missed that in the article. 😆
And, those chocolate covered bananas? Dark chocolate.
Oh Well Lafayette, I’m still batting 50-50 as I get older. At least I remembered your passion for DARK chocolate.

I neglected to post a few photos of 2 posters I asked Amos to sign. I didn’t want to make the blog all about him, especially since I am writing on a site that is John Mellencamp related.
This poster was from the co bill Lu and Amos shared in 2011. I was able to get Lu to sign it on that tour, but was never able to get Amos to sign until last week.
May 6, 2013 at 5:55 am #41164LafayetteParticipantJune 4, 2013 at 8:37 pm #41165Drunken AngelParticipantFrom today’s newsletter:
Blue Note Records has announced that the new Amos Lee album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, will be released on October 1.
Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, produced by Jay Joyce, features guest appearances by two legendary ladies — Allison Krauss joins Amos on “Chill In The Air” and Patty Griffin sings harmony on “Mountains of Sorrow,” a song inspired by Amos’s visit to Levon Helm’s barn in Woodstock, where he appeared at the legendary drummer’s Midnight Ramble not long before Helm’s death.
The new record is the first to feature Amos’s long-time touring band — comprising Freddie Berman, Zach Djanikian, Andy Keenan and Jaron Olevsky — and the first album ever recorded at St. Charles, producer Joyce’s brand new studio, housed in a converted church in East Nashville.
On recording the 12 new songs in Nashville, Amos says, “I’ve always enjoyed it down there, so I thought I’d bring my band and see how a bunch of Philly guys fit in.”
Stay tuned for more details on Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song as they become available, including info on how you can pre-order the album direct from AmosLee.com.
In the meantime, here’s the track listing for the record:
01 Johnson Blvd
02 Stranger
03 Scamps
04 Chill In The Air
05 Dresser Drawer
06 Indonesia
07 High Water
08 The Man Who Wants You
09 Loretta

June 5, 2013 at 2:38 am #41167LafayetteParticipantHere, here! I was so excited to hear this record was in the works as well!
I was in Franklin, TN, just outside of Nashville, over the weekend, for an Americana Music Association benefit show featuring Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas as hosts and additional music guests were Angel Snow, Sarah Jarosz, Teddy Thompson, Shawn Colvin, and Amos Lee.
The scene was set at a place called The Factory, an entertainment and shopping complex in a refurbished factory. Many of the shops were artists with original works, jewelry, etc and rental hall type spaces, including Liberty Hall, where the show was held. The night was about 2 hours and 15 minutes of each of the artists, including the house band, trading songs, none of which I was familiar with 😳 except for a few Dylan covers and Amos finished the night with a rousing “Windows Are Rolled Down” from “Mission Bell.” Each of the main artists performed 3 songs in total, except Amos, clocking in at four. Three of the first songs he performed were from his upcoming record. One was written for his mother, telling us she was the oldest of eight and the rock of the family. A few of the house band musicians performed a song. Gabe Dixon was on piano.
The show was mesmerizing. My husband fell in love with Alison’s performance.
I’ve yet to find any write ups about the evening.

El Camino
Skipping Stone
Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight
Violin
A Change Is Gonna ComeThey didn’t start the webcast until after Amos was done, but they did play A Change Is Gonna Come later in the set. Amos also played the Life Is Good festival the next day. I watched the whole set and it was great (have to go thru the setlist). He was really funny and played great. I have the whole webcast of that and plan to make a dvd (and I’ll include the Farm Aid song too). When it’s done I’ll upload to wetransfer for anyone who wants to grab it. I can also upload an mkv of it if that’s preferable?
November 14, 2013 at 4:43 pm #41173LafayetteParticipantShort road trip to Louisville Ky to see Amos at the beautiful Louisville Palace Theater. It was the first time I’ve attended this theater. I love theater shows for their all magnificent architecture and history. I prefer club shows with general admission but it looks like Amos may not be looking back. He put on the best show. EVER. Theaters agree with him plus he seems like he is in a really good place. He was happy, relaxed, telling stories and jokes. PLUS, he loves Louisville, and Ross, the cab driver. He even dedicated a song to him – he rearranged “Black River” with a reggae beat. I assume Ross loved reggae.
His band was firing on all cylinders and he has picked up Annie Clements (Sugarland, Holly Williams) on bass (she appeared with him on Leno and Letterman a month or so ago). Oh, plus he played “Colors,” a rarity on the set list these days. I swooned.
I wish I had the time and could rationalize the funds to travel to L.A. next Feb 21. It would be so awesome if Lu was invited as a special guest. 🙂

Well deserved for Amos volunteer work in the Philly area. The Liberty Bell gift was most appropriate.
Lafayette, I was searching WRLT-FM ( Nashville ) Lightning 100’s Audio Vault to see if they had Lucinda’s 3rd & Lindsley
self-titled broadcast which I had taped but in not the best quality, but I happened across this.
A recent live radio “Amos Lee Secret Show”, a full 1/2 hour with Amos new songs and great banter.
Enjoy.Scroll down to #10.
