Hi All,
I found this forum while trying to find some info on Amos Lee (I’m a huge fan). I enjoy Lucinda’s music as well and have seen her open for both Neil and Levon, and I saw her at the Bridge Benefit in 2010.
I was at the Amos show in Toronto last October. I just want to add to the setlist that during the story about playing for Musicians on Call Amos played Bill Withers’ Lovely Day which was a great treat.
I’m wondering if anyone collects/trades Amos shows? I’m looking to trade for videos and have some stuff to offer in trade. I’m looking for any footage that I can get. If you have or know where to look, please feel free to email me at hornsbytree@hotmail.com – I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
Mike

Yes, the Toronto show was great Mike as I reported earlier. I forgot about the Bill Withers song.
Here’s a site I just found.
It’s called Jukebox from Paris France and has a great 20 clip collection of Amos videos.(Some but not all are You Tubes.)http://www.jukebo.fr/amos-lee
By the way, “Super Amos Fan” Lafayette in this forum got me introduced to Amos’ music.

I have the setlist from the stage from the Toronto show, but I have no idea how to post it. If someone knows how I can email the picture of it. You’ll see that Amos called a couple of audibles.
March 13, 2012 at 8:26 pm #41137hornsbytreeParticipantAnd I should add too that Amos played What’s Going On in Toronto.
March 14, 2012 at 9:01 pm #41133LafayetteParticipantWelcome hornsbytree !
First, one way to post pictures is to use a hosting site, i.e. photobucket, flickr, etc.
Second, what exactly are you looking for as far as Amos goes on shows? Will YouTube footage work? I have a few of Amos on my channel including a great capture of him with Willie and Mickey Raphael at Farm Aid (Amos’s official YouTube channel ending up using it!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHtmck4Cr0U and even an Amos/Lu duet in Cleveland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1lCQTMnlJE&list=UUgpXgTp1CISfEdVWucINn8Q&index=9&feature=plcp
I have tickets for his Knoxville TN show on April 22.
April 21, 2012 at 11:17 pm #41138hornsbytreeParticipantThanks for the welcomes and info. I’ve started gathering some nice quality Amos videos from youtube that I will make into a dvd and share here once it’s ready. There’s some really nice stuff (Bing Lounge, Bonnaroo).
I’m looking for any kind of videos. I’m a collector, so my preference is complete audience shot videos or stuff from tv, but with the scarcity of Amos stuff I’ll take anything.
I’ve already made a dvd with 15 diff’t tv performances that I recorded on my pvr and put on dvd (therefore very nice quality). It’s now posted on Dime:

If anyone would like to run a vine here I’d be more than happy to send someone a copy.
Lafayette – have a great time at the show tomorrow! Take your video camera… 😀
April 23, 2012 at 8:48 pm #41132LWjettaParticipantWhilst we await Lafayette’s report on Knoxville, TN here is the kind of “stuff” Amos is made of.
This is a quote from his Dallas show on Earth Day.
“Quote”
For all those wondering why Amos Lee gets off stage in the middle of singing Cup of Sorrow well here’s a quick summary: before singing the song he told a story of an old lady who was at a hospice care facility who didn’t want to be sang to well he tried anyways and half way thru this song she got out of her wheelchair and did a ‘slipper dance’. So while he was singing the song for Dallas an old woman in a motorized wheelchair came to the front where she hit a table and fell out of her chair as soon as security helped her back in she started retreating into the crowd so Amos being who he is stopped singing to go to her and check that she was ok and thank her for coming. Probably the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen an artist do. Enjoy
“End Quote”Here’s the video (most of it you will have to turn your monitor sideways to view).

Ain’t happening, LWJetta. Lafayette & I exchanged texts last night about a house concert I was attending (Angela Easterling & Hannah Miller). She said she had a bad head cold & had to cancel her trip to Knoxville… 🙁

April 23, 2012 at 10:18 pm #41142LafayetteParticipantYes, I was so disappointed. My family was stunned, ready to call 911. 😆 I didn’t get out of bed hardly all day yesterday.
I feel much better today, but still not 100 percent.
And, even more disappointing, can’t get my Amos fix as he has only 2 other shows listed. One overseas, and one in Texas the day I’ll be in Bowling Green for a free JM show.
April 23, 2012 at 10:19 pm #41143LafayetteParticipantThank you, lwj, for posting that personal story about Amos. Quite the testament.
April 24, 2012 at 12:32 pm #41144LafayetteParticipantI love impromptus. I’ve never experienced one – Mr. Mellencamp use to stop in a small bar in Bloomington back in the day.
Found this on twitter, posted by Barley’s in Knoxville. Apparently the band stopped in for an impromptu (I’m guessing after the festival). The video is dark. Amos covers “Ophelia.”

April 28, 2012 at 3:40 pm #41139TimParticipantThanks for the pics. His touring band is outstanding, looking forward to seeing them this year.
November 16, 2012 at 10:09 pm #41145LWjettaParticipantHey Lafayette, I’m sure you also received an email from Amos re: New Year’s Eve in Greensboro, NC opening for the Avett Brothers.
I believe you had reported earlier under JM that you had an 8 hour driving limit to attend a show.
By my search you have 10 minutes to spare from Cinci. 😆lwj
p.s. Hard to believe that it’s been a year since I saw him, Bo R., and Pieta B. in Toronto.November 21, 2012 at 9:18 pm #41146LafayetteParticipantAh, yes, lwj, I had my eye on that show when it was announced months ago. I passed, wondering if our Bearcats would be playing a Bowl Game this year. I think we won’t be making the trip to Miami with Saturday’s loss to Rutgers.
