I suppose it’s protocol for someone else to start a thread rather than the one likely to report, but I’ve been in this town almost 24 hours and loving it. As I was strolling near the capitol building last dusk, what did I espy but Her tour bus plying the avenues? Call it pedostalk if you will, but I picked up the pace and ran it to its lair, front of the Hilton. A pleasant conversation with TM John and merch gal Dani ensued, the former telling me the bus had just been washed, which wasn’t done days before “because we couldn’t get Lu off the bus long enough to take it in.” Sparkling indeed the vehicle was. I didn’t breach the inside of the premises, though I did consider finding the housephone and asking for the Overby suite.
Albany is a town wherein the menu of the restaurant at the Greyhound station is in French. I don’t say a bilingual menu, I say that it is in French. Though I didn’t arrive by bus mode this trip, I’ve been to plenty Dog depots and can truly say that was a unique find.
Other than the gent at the Visitors Center having no information on sites related to William Kennedy (and scarcely having heard of him), all omens are good here for a fine show in a few hours.

Had an outstanding pork chop a few years back at “old-school” Lombardo’s Restaurant at 121 Madison Avenue – – sorry to say I think they’re closed on Tuesdays. I’ll be interested to hear your reactions to The Egg. Enjoy! 🙂

After a Google search out of curosity, I discovered 7 Greyhounds leave Montreal daily bound for NYC all with a 40 minute layover in Albany for re-fuelling, rest, etc. and most buses are full. Hence the sandwich au fromage or poutine on the menu. 😆
Enjoy the rest of the tour.
