Seems, if the trend continues, Lucinda is on one month, off one month this year.
There was some discussion yesterday on her Facebook page re:
Ottawa, ON
Tom O. quoted Ottawa Folkfest, some posters were disappointed that Lu was not confirmed for the Ottawa Bluesfest which runs in the 1st two weeks of July. I had attended Lu’s performance at this festival in 2008.
The Ottawa Folkfest runs from August 25-28, 2011 but their web site has not yet announced the performers. So, could this be part of a 4th leg back East ?
Let’s hope so.lwj

May 10, 2011 at 3:13 pm #47017tntracyParticipantFort Stewart, GA?!?! That’s the home of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, down next to Savannah. They have been very active in Iraq. Also, Fayetteville, NC is home to Fort Bragg. Is Lu doing a benefit for the troops?

I wondered the same thing. I also thought “Hmmm, that’s only 3 hours away from the nation’s oldest city, historic St. Augustine, with a new totally covered amphitheatre that is very near the ocean. And so many Facebook fans have been requesting a Florida show. And it’s less than an hour south of I-10 to be able to hop back on the highway to head back out west with potential other stops in I-10 towns like Tallahassee, Pensacola, Mobile, etc. 🙂
May 10, 2011 at 4:09 pm #47019parkercaParticipantThat would be very cool. Lu and Tom are going to need a LONG vacation after all the touring this year.
but not too long, cause we all need shows to look forward to next year. 😉
May 10, 2011 at 5:17 pm #47020paul_from_losangelesParticipantContinuing the military theme, the Orange County Great Park is an ambitious new work-in-progress: a 1300-acre suburban park being developed on the grounds of the deactivated Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in El Toro.
For historical reference, here is a link to the 2010 (not 2011) summer concert series:
http://www.ocgp.org/events/flightsandsounds
For the 2011 curious reader, here is a link to a Request-for-Quote to stage the 2011 series. I know “line 2” specifies 2010, but that must be an error, since responses were not due until April, 2011, and 2011 is specified at about the 11th line. Also, Appendix A lists dates for Friday & Saturday of 2011.

The bottom line is that there is no permanent concert facility at the park. The temporary stage is rigged for this 5-week series only.

It’s a good thing that Lucinda has mentioned in several interviews that she has written enough songs during the Blessed writings for another complete album.
lwjp.s. I’m sure tntracy can give us the location city for The Cox Capital Theatre. 😆

May 13, 2011 at 12:30 am #47026TOverbyParticipantHmmm…somehow a post that I put in here a couple of days ago disappeared. We got the offer for the two military base shows which Lu was proud to do so we quickly added three show after the 7/25 show to get us down to those shows. The three that have been added are Richmond, Raleigh and Macon. I am presently not sure if the military base show are open to the public as I don’t think they are but will verify. Also, there is no connection to military base shows and the show in Orange County on Aug. 13th, which will most likely be a one off.
May 14, 2011 at 5:12 pm #47027LWjettaParticipantRecently added.
July 8, 2011 Winnipeg, MB Folk Fesival.
Lu will be in great company at this festival which runs July 6-10
