who cares about the book. most artists use teleprompters and a lot of big names fucking lip-synch. i want her to get all those words right anyways.
last time i saw patti smith do birdland she donned reading glasses and held one of her books of poetry (not a binder like lucinda, like the book you can go to barnes + noble and buy) and read from it…
Concerning the fellow who shouted that we couldn’t hear Doug’s guitar. He was right, it was way too low in the mix. Lucinda didn’t seem at all bothered by that. To the contrary, she seemed to be pleased by it – one that the audience gave it’s input, and two, that the audience knew who he was. The band had not yet been introduced.
As far as the temper goes, those of us who have seen many shows can be amused by it, but those who haven’t had that opportunity are getting screwed.
