Ray Wylie Hubbard has a new album to be called “Tell The Devil I’m Getting There as Fast as I Can” and apparently Lu lends her vocals. I’m not sure if she’s on the title song or elsewhere on the album (his post wasn’t clear), but I like the collaboration!

This is random and doesn’t fit with this post and doesn’t really justify its own post, but before the Petty show in Nashville last month, the overhead sound system played Can’t Let Go sung by a woman who maybe sounded a little like Mavis Staples. I know Lu didn’t pen the song, but I’d never heard that version and I’m not finding who the singer is. Does the Lu hive mind know? ALSO before the Petty show, Something Wicked This Way Comes played on the overhead sound system! I understand that the artist often picks the tunes that play before the show, so I take that as a Lu tribute from Petty 🙂

Can’t help with paragraph two, but Ray Wylie rocks. Lu sang on one track of an older RWH record, with the title I want to say Kings of Crimson–or something close to that. I believe her contribution is the title track. I saw him in Memphis the other week and hope to again in Nashville come the summer.
