From Tom:In recent years Lu has talked a lot more between songs, telling the background stories etc, but last night she was downright chatty. At one point she said something to the effect of “I know i’m talking a lot, but that’s good, it just means i’m comfortable with y’all”. And that was definitely the truth-she was very upbeat and loose. There were 9 songs in this set that were played for the first time on this tour including 4 from Sweet Old World album. 3 of those hadn’t been played in several years and the newly re-written Drivin’ Down A Dead End Street was the first time ever. Every time we come to the Pageant we talk about how it’s the perfect venue for Lu fans—with the standing floor and seats up around the top. It would great if there were more places that offered that option. All in all a really great 2 nights in St. Louis -for those keeping score at home it was 36 different songs over the two nights. And oh yeah —a great review of the first night:

OK OK I got the newly titled song a bit wrong, but thanks to Tom for his post via Tony. And who recognizes Beatle Bob from the front row of the bottom pic? He may have been kicked out of 80% of the music venues in the city, but you won’t see Lu at the Pageant without the man’s Liverpoolish mane.

This was my second St. Louis ‘The Pageant” show to see Lu. I love this place. I was so happy to see the stage floor was not configured with seating, as my ticket in hand was showing I would be sitting in the second row, center section. Only one complaint, they juked us on the “No pictures, no videotaping per request of the artist.” I was told this at the box office and also going thru a security check.” I should have been a “Rebel, Rebel” and not followed the media rules put forth. TO verified it was not their request.
