I may have missed one late in main set.
Lu praised the house sound, though this was the smallest, least ornate space yet on the tour. The building seemed to be pre WWII though, having survived the Allied bombing.
Dirk D opened nicely again, though Lu forgot for the second straight night to mention him. I know they did hit it off, though.
The night before in Hamburg I saw Matthias (sp?) again, who met Stuart in Groningen and is a big Lu fan. He is a music teacher from central Germany, and was 50-50 on the Dresden show: didn’t spot him last night.
In the queue in Hamburg, where there was a ticket snafu causing many people to miss the opener (plus those watching their nation in European Cup action) because one staff member and one staff member only was working the entry line, the guy behind me was babbling on over his cellphone, in English, about baby names. It was pretty irritating for a quarter hour, but all was forgiven later at the bar when we chatted and he revealed himself to be a native son of Annapolis, Maryland (we discussed Ramshead). He asked me if I had any first-time Fatherly advice, and I fear I failed him. Turns out the baby is destined to be a preemie and his wife is currently hospitalized: none of this prevented him from coming out solo to see Lu in Hamburg for the second time in as many years, Fabrik and now Kampvogel (sp?). A young man after my own heart. Cheers.
