Here are Tom’s remarks, set lists, and photos from the Chicago shows, for your consideration:
What an amazing three nights in Chicago -50 different songs in three nights. It’s getting hard to write these show updates without becoming redundant. It’s to keep saying great show and great audiences but it really has been true on this run. Chicago was definitely no exception to that with there shows at the Old Town School Of Music that all sold out in about a day. We have played many different venues and they are all great and all unique and the OTSOM was no exception. It may be the most beautiful sounding room we’ve played yet. Just immaculate. I have to give special mention to the second night. She has been singing absolutely amazing on this entire tour, and being able to watch every show I hear little things that are different every night, certain inflections and phrasing etc.and on the second night I could tell right away that she was really on. I couldn’t leave the side of the stage for the entire night. She was just absolutely in the zone -it was almost like she was somewhere else. After Dust and Unsuffer Me she turned around toward Butch and I noticed a few tears. Top to bottom I don’t know that I’ve ever heard her sing the way she did that night. A very special night among three excellent ones on what is turning into a very special tour. The level that Lucinda and the band are on right now has never been higher.
redundant for you Tom maybe, but we enjoy the postings here. Matter of fact, if you skipped your native state of MN and went straight to Denver and Dallas news/lists, I wouldn’t complain. I assume you got out of CO (Breckenridge) before the storm hit. It would be nice to know Lu has, in fact, played live 4 nights since you left Minnesota. But I will be patient.
