From Tom:
Spent the day on the bus, which was parked somewhere back in the depths of the forest. It rained all day and being in the bus listening to that was kind of like being stuck in a drive thru car wash. It was a bit relaxing so there was also the feeling of listening to a Nature Sounds cd in surround sound.
Sometimes when you’re out on tour and the shows are great it’s nice to get an outside perspective from someone whose opinion you trust. A friend of ours was at the show and he is a music writer who reached out when Spirit Meets Bone came out. He wanted me to know that he thought it was a very deep piece of work, which of course was very appreciated because as solid as some of the reviews were when it came out, it seemed that there were certain things that were missed or overlooked.
Anyway the friend was here at Caramoor and sent me this message:
“Just got home from Caramoor and Lu’s show was probably the most powerful performance I’ve seen in decades. Was wondering how she could do that album live as well as it was recorded, and she and the band surged beyond any expectations”.
Was great to hear that reaffirmed because that is the way we are feeling about these shows. Great setting at Caramoor -hope we can come back there some time.
