    1 Something Wicked
    2 Can’t Let Go
    3 Car Wheels
    4 West Memphis
5 Drunken A [Stu barely gets the harmonica back on for the chorus, having inexplicably grounded it after “West Memphis”: Lu’s intro references a woman who asked her to write the words “Drunken Angel” on her back, the better to get it tattooed later, mentioning that her own sister Karen, a nurse, assisted in the process]
6 Are You Alright [Lu mentions a cousin and his family in the house, who are actually seated in front of me]
    7 Compassion [brief false start]
8 Rock Island Line [brief false start, Lu then mentioning loving this Leadbelly song as a kid]
9 Lake Charles [before which Clyde Woodward is praised as having made “a mean dish of gumbo and dirty rice”]
    10 Temporary Nature
    11 Are You Down
    12 Protection
13 Out of Touch [Lu hesitates, walks to wings saying “I have to talk to Tom” then proceeds by saying “This is a family-friendly show”]
    14 Changed the Locks
    15 Unsuffer Me
    16 Righteously
    17 HOneybee

At one point Lu bemoaned the “moat” separating her from audience but then qualified: “Things might get too out of hand” [if it were breached]. I’m surprised she made no Iowa City literature/Flannery O’Connor/writers’ workshop comments, because I think that crowd was well represented. And it was a safe house for her to utter the name “Bernie Sanders,” covertly, toward the end. Hillary is not her favorite.

Time to slam the trunk and check the KC weather forecast. A 2011 Crossroads reprise weather-wise? Let’s hope not.

Thanks Roger.. Love the political banter that occasionally picks up during election seasons.
My “Lu in ’08” shirt is getting a little tight…Perhaps a “Lu in ’16” version is around the corner..

    From Tom:
Well I think we’re getting the flow of being back on the road. It was an especially talkative Lu -as she said during the show that means she’s feeling very comfortable and that was certainly the case in Iowa City as she had completely improvised introductions to several songs. We added Rock Island Line because Iowa City was apparently one of the first places that got a locomotive that ran on the RIL in 1855. Lu wanted to mention that as part of the reason the Lead Belly classic was in the setlist—she had also just performed a few weeks ago at the Lead Belly tribute show in Washing ton DC. Of course she forgot to mention that historical connection. Oh well can’t get ‘em all. And we can’t fail to mention a big thank you to Iowa City -this was third straight time that Lu has sold out the Englert. We will definitely be back.
