‘It’s not official yet, but Lucinda Williams (@HappyWoman9), whose terrific double album is out 9/30, tells me she’ll perform @AmericanaFest.’
I can confirm that -it was finally officially confirmed yesterday. It will be 9/21 and is the kickoff event for the new City Winery in Nashville. It will be taped by Sirius Radio for a broadcast around street date. I would expect that the set will be heavy on new songs.

I’ve been seeing many positive tweets, no negatives, yet, for DWTSMTB, some proclaiming it’s her best album, yet.
I hope this jump starts a road trip, soon! I’m excited for the Lexington show and hope Cincinnati is in the mix as well.

Just to speculate as a dispassionate observer, the phase “Sold Out” for the City Winery may simply mean that the City Winery is not selling tickets to this event. All Americana Music Festival (AMF) events at the City Winery, Sept. 17-21, are listed as “Sold Out” on the City Winery website, but the AMF website repeatedly mentions badges and wristbands (not venue tickets) for all events at all venues. Venues can limit entry based on credentials and capacity, but “Sold Out” seems absent from the AMF protocol.
From the AMF website (in Expanded mode), this specific event is detailed as:

I believe the Lucinda show at City Winery is distinct from the morning Gospel brunch. Looking at those times, it’s hard to think Lucinda would answer that a.m. bell. Thanks to Tom for clarifying the date and venue; he might know the exact hour of the evening too, for those with questions.
The time of the show is still being decided. Elizabeth Cook is opening and my best guesstimate is that she will start at 7.
If anyone here in the forum is traveling in and would like to come to the show -please reach out to me separately.
A couple of other things -Lu will also be doing one song as part of a gospel show that is being taped for PBS -it is at a church that I don’t have the name of right at hand.Also -it is 99% done that Lu will be doing 3 shows at the City WInery the three days prior to Thanksgiving -11/24,25 & 26.
There are a lot of shows that will be announced in the next week–will try and post a the routing as it sits right now in the shows thread asap.

Lucinda Williams will perform an intimate invitation only showcase on Sunday, September 21 at Music City’s newest venue, City Winery Nashville, to close the 2014 Americana Music Festival & Conference with a special live taping for SiriusXM’s “Outlaw Country.”
Ms. Williams will be performing songs from her highly anticipated new double album, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone that will be released on September 30. The evening will start with Elizabeth Cook performing at 7PM and doors will open at 6PM.
