Well, there are over 1,900 preferences on Lu’s Facebook, so let’s see some action from the friendly forum.

Once again, we are down to the wire in regards to choosing Lucindaโ€™s new album cover. It will be chosen in the 24-48 hours. Here are the two finalists – we are definitely leaning one way again but just wanted to see what everyone else thought of these. (Album release is 9/30) – Lucinda mgmt.

Recollecting the atmosphere of her gig in Hamburg last year I would say “definitely number one”! More profundity, more romantic – and a nice reference to “Blue”.

wow. Which one, if either, is based on Birney Imes’ book of photographs? Maybe both are? A little birdie indicated to me that this Mississippian has given leave for his work to be, once again, used as cover art.

So very hard to choose, but for me #1 just shades it,
probably because it has a picture of Lucinda on it. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

#2 the first one doesn’t look like it fits with Lucinda’s music.

stoger, your little birdie was right on the $$$$.

In the end, here is what Lu really wanted to go with. These are the front and back covers. (The back here is for the vinyl version.)
The photos are by Birney Imes from his well known book “Juke Joint”. It is the same book that provided the cover for “Car Wheels On A Gravel Road”, as well as the photo that inspired the song “2 Kool 2 Be Forgotten” – so it makes a cool connection with Lucinda’s previous artwork.
Lucinda just loves Birney’s photography and really loved these two photos, especially once she saw it as a mocked up album cover; she really loved the way colors popped and thought idea that juke joints as places where the spirit meets the bone fit the title. – Lucinda mgmt.

Won’t miss this in the record shop for its vibrant colours.

Still, you gotta like the nod toward democracy. . . .

There’s no democracy when it’s about art! I can comprehend the decision. Woe if the music sucks ๐Ÿ˜ฏ but I don’t think so 8)

The new tunes have blown me away over the course of this last tour. The music most definitely will not suck. Lu just keeps getting better and better 8)

“When I look at the world” has became a classic even before release, at least in my mind… How the fxxx does she reach this point of pure honesty?!?
