Lucinda Williams To Release Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone
July 15, 2014 at 6:59 pm #53258stogerParticipantWell, I see the sequencing is different from Tonyg’s list posted some weeks ago, with even a couple of songs jumping from one album to the other. “Protection” is included of course.
I’m still unclear myself on the Frisell thing, as both links indicate he is on one or more of these tracks for September. At any rate, let the countdown begin!
July 16, 2014 at 3:42 am #53259LafayetteParticipantApparently, a music video is in the works. My guess is for “Compassion” considering the hashtag. Here’s the tweet:

Akin to the special Beatles mono cartridge coming out to celebrate the mono Beatles box set, cartridge maker Grado is coming out with a special Lu 78 RPM cartridge and audiophile turntable maker VPI is bringing out a line of 78 RPM tables. It is believed that the retro “Back to Shellac” movement that began by hipsters in Brooklyn is gaining traction and will become mainstream by year’s end. And I also hear that the original title was “Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bong.”

Sears? As in [Pops] Roebuck? Man, you’re old school brick and mortar LWJ. I like it.

Not sure how quickly I will be able to get my copy LWjetta, but you can listen to two of the new tracks here :-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04cns9l
Hope it works outside UK, this is a link to replay The Bob Harris radio show and is available for another 5 days here.
I listen to Bob`s two radio shows every week, and he is one of very few DJ`s here in the UK who regularly play Lucinda and is the reason I discovered Lucinda in the first place, so I owe him so much.
It is a three hour show and hour three is called “The Listening Booth” where Bob plays a selection of tracks from new and forthcoming releases, this week he had Lucinda`s` new album and was enthusing about it from the start of his show.
He played two tracks firstly “Protection” at 02:07:10 followed by “Compassion” at 02:42:35 (If you want to cut to the chase) my first review goes as follows :- excellent and up to Lucinda standard and I am sure like most previous records from Lu will be a real grower as well.
Hope the link works for all the Lucinda fans across the globe.August 11, 2014 at 4:33 pm #53270LWjettaParticipantdr Winston
The BBC is coming in loud and clear here in Canada.
Great to hear a sampling of the studio versions.
Thanks for posting the link to the broadcast.lwj
